If I take it easy on a trip (say... Gainesville), then I will get 300 miles... but even then I usually romp on a bit too much.
Yeah, this. The whole thing. Normally 7.6 miles a day in 2 trips. Half of it in 4th trying to get it to warm up so I can just drive. And a way too heavy right foot.

Sucks to hear about the problems. Hope they figure out how to fix the zoning issue!

Do you ever make it over to the westside anymore? I get over there on your side of the creek about once or twice a month. I still have your Christmas present here.

Anyone looking for a TD-04? I'm trying to liquidate some parts before I head out. My gigantic TMIC APS knock off $150, TD-
04 $100, 690 cc injectors (which don't look like our thin blues but will work on a subie no problem, verified with RC who re-did them) $200 (I paid $275 just to find out they were too small, only 8 miles on them) my JDM 16g - $200 (28k, sourced a new compressor housing and EVO 16g inducer for $150 new, or just clip and go), EJ 255 rods from and '07, $100 ( need one cap bolt, good shape, low miles) nick-nacks and sensors, lemme know what you need, bpv's modded and stock, valve covers, accessory brackets, oil pan/dipstick, this/that/other, just hit me up. I deploy next week, need $. (like always) lol

Also have a 2002 Ford Explorer with $6500 in new parts including a new trans ($3500 by itself), 4x4 in good shape, 140k, XLS package $4900 (KBB $5,750) OBO (good DD desperate to sell)

I don't know how the PO is still in business. We have a contract, contracts are meant to be kept, but their managers just keep doing their best to break them.
Just my stuff has cost them thousands, and going to cost them more. Why not just let us old guys do our thing, like we have been for years. We get the job done right, maybe not as cheaply as the new hires, but right.
Let us retire when the plan says to, 62, not necessarily as soon as possible.

According the the financial numbers published, the PO SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS. It should be bankrupt, restructured and management completely changed out.

What would happen if it completely shut down, ala Hostess?

According to who? The Union & Postal Management says if that happens the world as we know it ends...Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria! (Dr. Peter Venkman)

As far as that changing out of management, I agree. From the bottom to the top. The current crop of first line supervisors have been brainwashed with the idea that you can bully an employee into higher productivity. People just don't work well that way. And all employer loyalty has gone. No one looks after the Grunts (letter carriers) of the PO anymore.

Damned frustrating.

I agree about management thinking that they have to bully employee.
I use to work for a international marina company and the local office
was run by a stiff personality..would not let me bring in Popsicle for the
product crew..said they are production and management should not
inter-mingle..also was myopic sort of blind to the errors cause by drafting
department. granted the errors were on paper. but when your building
multi-million dollar marinas those errors are costly.

they need to all retire..

Too bad you dudes haven't worked for a company like J&J.

I have over 50 people that report into me, and commingle with every one of them. Three different days next week, I'll be hanging out after work with engineers, technicians and other managers celebrating the holidays.

Most managers and directors are like me at my company. No, everything isn't always lollipops and rainbows. We just did a small downsizing, which sucked. But in general, you treat people like how you want them to treat you. And yes, there are always problem employees that feel "entitled." Those are usually the ones that wreck things for everyone else, and make the need for lawyers.

Yup - I fully believe in that and it has made me a very well liked manager.

The "entitled" ... the 10% ers, they are the ones that create 90% of the problems for managers.

on another note .... you guys just popped several senior level jobs.

I know most of the hiring managers, and all the HR people. TELL ME if you want to apply, or need more information - I'll do what I can!
