Nobody charges for spectators (or passengers where allowed). Most drivers are willing to give rides particularly during their first runs (helps warm the tires and those are the slow runs anyway so the weight is no biggie).

Driving costs $30-$45 depending on the club (for me even with dedicated race tires an event costs under $100 including wear and gas).

Mechatricity, thanks for the pics and that's a cool shot of me spinning out like a noob!

Looks like it's time to upgrade the stock springs and shocks.

By the way, I'm signed up for the NTAXS on the 20th.

Haha sorry... It was too good not to include, but I knew I had to offset it with some clean action shots. :-) I have a whole bunch more of you if you want them. WRB turns out to be a good color to photograph on a day like that. It was puuurrddyyy.

I'll be there! Probably not too much competition (from me) but it'll be a blast. Weather looks like it should be glorious.

That looks like a fun coarse layout. I wish I could have made it but I'm still waiting on another set of tires sense my Star Specs died at the mineral wells event. What was the class winning time and car?

Best time in Class 2 was a 53.876 by a 03 350Z, followed by another Z then 2 Evos, then a G35, then bslate3's WRX.

Slowest was a Miata with a 68.449.

Sorry to miss it guys. I was signed up but we had to leave town at the last minute due to a family situation. I will hopefully make the next one.

Nice video! I would give you tips but I think our times were comparable so my information is somewhat useless. Btw what's your suspension setup?

I have to agree the NTAXS event was a lot of fun. It was a real fun coarse layout once you figured it out. I really liked the Chicago box section too.

The FTD was like a 52.0X from the red EVO 8 on slicks.

Something I have learned recently is the better you can get thru a slow section the faster your time will be. "Slow in, Fast out" really does make sense haha.

Also Evan use those massive brakes to your advantage, you should be able to come in pretty hot to some of those corners. Just depends if your tires can handle it.

Thanks! Eibach R2 Coil-overs with Vorshlag plates. Dropped about an inch, with -1.6 camber front -2 in back (from drop). I was running it a little stiff for this surface I believe though.

Yeah I think I could have pushed a little harder into them, also think I could have taken the sweeper before the box without lifting. That and my lines were a little off, noticed I was fairly far from a few of the cones.

I might go out to one of the events in the Acura for some giggles. Wish I had wider and better tires though....

All I see left is the PDX event. Which I would love nothing more than to compete in, but I doubt the TL qualifies for any of that. Wish I never got rid of the Miata. Any more auto x events in dfw in the near future?

Edit, nevermind. Solo at the bus lot......... on Sunday. awwwwww yeah

I do need help on classing though. I know it would compete in G stock. But my car has no cat's and has coilovers as far as the big contributing factors as far as classing. Would that be under ESP or something different. I know ESP is for sedans that are over 3.0l in displacement.

I just signed up for the Equipe Rapide autcross on May 5th at Dallas Raceway. This will be my first event with this club so we'll see how it goes. From what I've heard they are a great group too.

Signed and ready for the event this Sunday on the 28th. The Acura will be there in it's poo for tires. Sign up here http://texasscca.org/soloautocross/autocross-links . This is a very slippery lot but it is very forgiving on tires. Come out and have some fun!!!

ER is my favorite group too. I am signed up for that event and the Saturday BMW autox in Mineral Wells (bmw makes you be a member $38 per year but each event is cheaper than the other clubs so no biggie).

This weekend I will be at the Dallas Raceway in Crandall as an instructor for the exotic car autocross there, gonna worn Saturday and Sunday driving and instructing customers in Ferrari f430's and Lamborghini Gallardos.

It is going to be such a hardship, good thing they are paying me (suckers would have done it for free).

$449 to auto x a lambo or Ferrari? Maybe if it were someone's birthday present to me. I've had my fun in those cars.

At one point it was down to $300, and it's like $150-$200 for rides. I wouldn't spend that much personally but as an instructor I am more than willing to get paid to drive them.
