I think my next lens will be the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8... I can't justify the cost difference just for the Canon version. Still looks like a great lens. That and a 1.4x converter and I should be good for a while

Well that's flattering but I'm definitely not a pro. I'd call myself an advanced newb. I've only been doing this for a year and a half. I've just put a ton of time into it. The guys on here have also helped out tremendously.

Definintely big improvement there. Pictures are a lot sharper and framing is a lot better as well. Keep taking picture.

The second car behind the wrx also greatly detracts from the photo.

Thanks! And hey I kept forgetting to tell you but if you're low on budget want some quality lenses there is a more affordable way. Use Canon FD lenses on your camera. You'll need a FD to EF mount adapter (usually around $35 for a good one). But you can get some amazing vintage lenses for great price on ebay. Although lately the prices on them went up a bit as people starting to realize they aren't useless. However you'll miss out on autofocus and often have to control the aperture on the lens's body.

Not this guy here *points at self* I would go with a 50mm I'll take the compactness it offers and classic FOV/depth over versatility. Plus you get a workout with a 50 haha gotta run all over.

Two lenses I may give a go which I haven't sampled yet are a 135 prime and 35 prime. Now, I am not putting labels down because I don't know which yet. I'm considering the 135 1.8 Zeiss for my Sony setup, but maybe the Canon 35/135 combo for smooth bokehocity.

Lastly, the 35 1.4 Sigma is definitely tempting at that price point it's at--and if you guys aren't aware of this, if you consider going from Canon to Sony or Nikon or Sigma cameras, you can now send your Sigma lens back to Sigma and they will change the mount to anything you want! Heck of a deal there!

Ahhh decisions....

The 135 is a wonderful lens if it's a focal length that works for you.

Are you shooting film? Or is that a filter? Either way, very nice exposures.

oh sweet i was wondering bout the older lenses. what would be a good lens to start off with? well not just a fd lens but would would be the next step in buying a lens?
all i have is a 50mm f/1.8 and 18-55mm kit lens.

It depends on what you want to use it for. Unless you plan on going to a lot of motorsport event I think you're set for now with those 2 lenses. May be a nicer telephoto lens with wider aperture. I know I'll be getting a prime lens next. Thinking about the Sigma 30mm f1.4
