Question Do I need to replace front swaybar links?

Hello,
After doing much research here I decided to buy the 20 mm rear swaybar for my 2003 WRX wagon and I also purchased the aluminum KLC26 endlinks for the rear swaybar through Whiteline. My question is, do you think I need to replace the front plastic endlinks as well, or is there less stress in the front? I will not replace my front swaybar but I will keep it stock (is it a 19mm or a 20mm?) I drive fast and love twisty mountain roads, but I do not rally race or go off road at all. Will I notice any difference with the Whiteline KLC30 aluminum front endlinks over the stock ones? I would have ordered them today at Whiteline along with the rear endlinks, but they are not out quite yet. Is it neccassary or a waste of money to upgrade the front endlinks?
Thanks, Heather

I would stick with the rears and see how it feels to you.
In my opinion I would get them. The bulk of the weight of your car is in the front since that is where the engine is so it does bare a lot of weight, which is why the stock front strut bar is bigger than the rear, also to battle oversteer. Anyways, you will notice with the rear bar and links that the rear will hook up immediately going into a turn where as the front will flex slightly and then the sway bar proprties will kick in. Getting the links will give you more immediate response with the fron bar. My sway bar progression went like this....bought rear sway bar, installed.....bought front links, installed......bought front sway bar, installed and stiffened up adjustable rear bar....car became very neutral.

I'd put the rear bar on with the links, see how you like it and when the front links become available and if you feel you may like them, purchase. and ENJOY!

Lightbulb Great advice!

Thanks TORA! Sounds like a plan. Great advice can still be had from all you Legacy guys. I have not driven the GT wagon since I bought my WRX a week and 1/2 ago, poor girl just sits in the garage. All we did with the legacy was add a 20 mm rear swaybar to the back and better tires. I put Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires on the WRX and they are really nice! They look so beefy though, but perform wonderfully and are much quieter. Something about the shorter wheelbase on the Impreza that makes my heart sing.

You do not need front endlinks. No way, no how. If you're hankerin' to do something, get some of the Kartboy front endlink bushing inserts, which replace the softer rubber ones in the stock endlinks.

I tried Whiteline front endlinks, which were hard-riding and noisy. I tried Kartboy inserts, which worked well, without any of the negative additive issues of the Whitelines, though they were a bit clattery at times. I went back to stock, and never looked back.

You have a lot of other stuff going on in the front, before the swaybar even comes into play, such as control arm bushings, steering rack bushings, etc. All that stuff is flexing before the swaybar begins to do its thing.
