Default Trade my rear brembos for your 2pot setup!

I'm looking for a trade + cash for 2pots! My sti is completely disassembled, and i want to be able to put 15" rally wheels on it, so the brembos have got to go.

I'm willing to swap both rear backing plates, E-Brakes + Brembo calipers/rotors for the equivalent 06+ wrx 2-pot setup.

It's a perfect bolt-up situation to finish your brembo/sti conversion. This is off an '04, so everything will be a 5x100 pattern. Include pads and all clips.

Front brembos will be for sale separately, and will not include hubs, but will include rotors.

PM me if interested.

What? Why?

If i'm not mistaken, the e-brake's part of the rear hub assembly...so if i swap hubs with someone (incl. the brakes) then all is well in the hood. I just end up with a WRX e-brake, and they get the STI one.

Right?

The axles are not interchangeable. The easiest way for this to happen is for you to trade only the calipers and get Group-N rotors (special order) made for the R180 e-brake.

not only that. When someone with a WRX goes for brembo's usually they already have the 6sp as well.

This is what happeneds: the rotors on the Brembos are larger on the inside diameter so when you pull your E brake they will not touch the rotor. So the E brake will not work. You need to swap EVERYTHING . And with that hubs and also rear diff. Its a much bigger project then you think.
Consult with a pro like NitroDon or RSb22 or Ken BrakeGURU They have mucho experienco with brakeo's!

bascilly do your homework before you start asssuming. Great deal though. Just get a plan of attack. So it all goes smoothly.

Kenny and Chandy:

It's my understanding that the axles are different because the R180 diff is wider than the R160, so they're just a different length and connect differently at the differential...

I know about different dia. sti e-brake, and thought i explained my plan well enough in the first response to the e-brake question. If i swap hubs with a WRX owner...the e-brake is contained IN THE HUB, right? So WRX rotors, and the 2-pot calipers bolt right up as if i've got a wrx, and then the axles should fit in because the outside ends are the same as R160 axles...

Essentially, i'll have R180 diff/axles and R160 hubs/brakes. Savvy?

Does this work? It seems like it will, but i won't know until i get my sti later this week and sit down to compare the two

R180 axle end splines are too wide to fit the R160 hubs. No worries, you'll see.

JUST TO WARN YOU...WRX BRAKES WON'T FIT UNDER 15" WHEELS UNLESS THEY SPECIFICALLY SAY THEY WILL. YOU HAVE TO GO RS OR SMALLER BRAKES. GOOD LUCK! I just went though all this and gave up...

there is NO NEED FOR YELLING and there are plenty of 15" wheels that fit over 2-pot brakes... ie every single rally wheel on the market, some Enkei, etc.

I've already got a fantastic 4-pot front setup that i love, not looking to change that.

Also, '04 WRX rears are only 1-pot, and identical to what my 2.5RS already has. I want 2-pot rears and/or 06+ backing plates and e-brake assembly.
