Thanks for the info! Would break caliper paint work okay on the wheels?
I couldn't find any other paint in the color I wanted!

Black caliper paint should be fine, it is supposed to be resistant to brake dust, heat, and rock chips.

I used red caliper paint for my red lip (on my black wheels) and it seems to be holding up OK, some chips here and there but that's to be expected, the paint job is nearly 2.5 years old.

If you are referring to black with red lip, there are at least 3 of us who have posted pics in this thread - two on WRX wheels and one on STI wheels.

It would be cool for sure, just hard to find the paint to match that color.

Yes i painted over the wheel weights. These are my winter wheels. Though, there's a good chance I'll do this with the summer wheels.

thanks dude. they held up pretty well also. I've since sold that car with the wheels so I get to do it again on another set of wheels. It held up really well also. the only part that didn't hold up was the lug holes where the lugnuts tighten. that was the only spot and you can't see that part anyway.

Cool Here's my 00-01 RS 6-spoke wheels on MY06 TR

Painted professionally by a friend who works in a bodyshop. The color is supposed to be Duplicolor Graphite wheel spray paint, but it turned out lighter. It's actually very close to OEM Steel Grey Metallic. Added left over red pin stripe from DIY RA-R grill around the lips.

Excuse me for dirty car... been wanting to give it a wash, but it's been SOOO... COLD!!!

Fendyman, that looks beautiful. Those wheels on that car are amazing. Plus the red pin stripe.

Now when I buy my Dad's 06 TR in a few months, I'm thinking of getting a set of those wheels, and perhaps painting them white. The car is black.

Thanks. White wheels on black car look great, but good luck keeping it white.

I've got a question for you folks that painted your only set of wheels.

did you just do one wheel at a time or did you do all 4? if you did all 4, what did you do with the car? Jackstands? blocks? I've only got one set of wheels that I want to paint but I'm stuck with what to do about the car. When I did the set I posted in this thread, I had another set of wheels so i just threw those on.

I jacked up the car and left it on jackstands for a few days while I dismounted tires, prepped wheels, painted, remounted tires, etc...

Now I almost have 3 sets of wheels so I would just put the car on one of the other sets if I wanted to re-paint.
