STi engine and tranny mounts
What do they do? I think they just stop the little dance the RS dose at stop lights. I haven't noticed that in a while. Dose it go away or I am ignoring it?
Thanks

they hold the motor in the frame better. instead of wasting energy moving the motor around in the frame, it is directed to the drive shafts. makes the car better. also feels more solid. also faster shifting from redline. just slam the shifter and go.

Wop,
When I was under the car installing the Syms shifter you could move the back of the trans back and forth about 2inches stock mounts are mush. That convinced me to get the STi mounts. Just waiting for them on the TRi group buy. Mine should ship to me next week Dave |

The syms is nice but I have not compared with the Kartboy shifter. Looking at the syms linkage compared to the stock RS the main differance is the shifter arm (shorter ratio and no dampener) and the linkage arm has a bend in it. The syms is not that much shorter. People have posted 40% shorter but I think it's more like 30% shorter than stock RS. Kartboy shifter and bushing is almost a third of the cost and from what I've heard feels about the same.
I am going to alter the stock shifter to get about 50% shorter than stock. I will post when I've completed the mod. Dave |
