Default Ecuflash 1.31.1396 unable to read or flash

2004 USDM Impreza WRX 5mt.

I have two stock ECU's for the car, an AH793 and AH794. The AH794 I purchased BRAND NEW myself, so I know its not previously flashed.

I also have an AF424 from an 02 WRX.

Working with all 3 ECUs, following all the directions/instructions i can find...still no worky.

Heres what I get in Ecuflash:

[14:21:34.633] Using interface OpenPort 1.3 Subaru TX45RVpq79cdf6d5980f25c809c689a46adde3e12744126c
[14:21:43.706] SSM2 read ram byte addr: 000061
[14:21:43.766] ECU is in test mode
[14:21:44.056] SSM2 init
[14:21:44.247] SSM2 ECU ID is 1B 14 40 06 05

The error reads: 'an erros has occured. see log for details'

Thats with the AF424 ECU.

The AH793 and AH794 ECU's do this:

[14:28:04.243] Using interface OpenPort 1.3 Subaru TX45RVpq79cdf6d5980f25c809c689a46adde3e12744126c
[14:28:07.648] SSM2 read ram byte addr: 000061
[14:28:09.771] unable to verify test mode
[14:28:10.001] SSM2 init
[14:28:10.172] SSM2 ECU ID is 2E 14 48 60 06
[14:28:10.312] Requesting Seed...
[14:28:10.402] Sending Key...

Then i get the same error message.

Anyone have an idea?

I'd post this on enginuity and see what those guys have to say. did you install the cables driver? otherwise no clue, I'd post it in bug reporting over on the other forum.

you download the 1.32 version? I just DL'd that last night to play around with it, but have yet to try and read/write with it.

Hmmm...this might be the problem:

Quote:
Some users have encountered issues when upgrading to EcuFlash 1.30 from previous versions of Ecuflash. The solution is to completely uninstall EcuFlash and all related drivers:

* Unplug the OpenPort cable from your computer.
* Uninstall all versions of EcuFlash in add/remove programs in the control panel. Delete all EcuFlash shortcuts on your desktop and in the start menu.
* Remove any windows driver packages in add/remove programs that are labeled as FTDI, Tactrix or OpenPort (typically one group of five drivers).
* Reboot the computer.
* Download and install EcuFlash 1.30.
* Plug the OpenPort cable into your computer. If Windows asks you to search for drivers, select for windows to do this automatically. It may run through this process a couple of times. When it's done, you'll get a message that your new hardware is ready to use (in the lower right hand corner). If windows has issues installing the drivers, try designating the search to the "***8230; \OpenECU\EcuFlash\drivers" directory.

well, maybe not flash. Giving me a 'unable to read programming voltage' error after it starts to flash.

I've got 12.7 volts and both the connectors done up (white block, green pair).

At least it READS the rom.

Yeah, new defs on both 1.32 and 1.29a results in NO WORKY for 1.32 on the 04 WRX. However, the 1.29a works fine for the 04 WRX. Will try some more stuf tomorrow.

also you know what you could:
- uninstall the progam
- Delete the orignal folder by finding "OpenEcu" folder under C:\program files (if you made changes to any of your xml files back them up)
- reinstall the new verison of ecuflash
