Default vividracing sucks...

yeah, bumpity bump. They screwed me as well. Charged me, didn't ship for 4 months after repeatedly being told that it was shipping anyday. Finally, after 4 months I find out that the product, just a damn prodrive shift knob was backordered indefinitely??!!!

Stick with gruppe-s they are they bomb Best prices I've seen and awesome service to boot...

In my past experiences with the Better Business Bureau, they really dont do too much. This is how it went down with me. I called the bbb filed a complaint, you know told them the whole story. They then put it in writing and send it to the business I filed the complaint against. If the the business respondes, the complaint is recorded as a responded complaint. If the business does not respond, the complaint is recorded as an unresponded or unreplied complaint. Other than that the bbb doesnt do much. Its just a way for consumers to get an idea of a business's reputation.

Well except they have thousands of repeat customers who do just fine. Building the Pepsi RX-8? Just moved into a new building bigger than any other shop? Yeah they must screw all their customers. Funny how no matter what the topic in this forum, there are a hundred people who jump on the **** talking bandwagon. Sonic RX who was banned from the Vivid forums is still shopping with them? Riiiiiiight.

I just think they are young and not organized. They bit off more than they can chew. There are many good stories but the bad stories are really bad. The local tuners agree that they just suck. The best thing for them to do right now is sell out. It is just time to find someone that can keep up. I have waited over a month for more than one part. I didn't have anywhere else to go. But now I do. I still have their logo on my car. But really I had to wait 4 weeks+ for each part. I consider myself a good customer just for doing that. They should be paying me.

So local competitor shops say they suck? Go figure. Every shop has it's bad stories. I've ordered from other shops as well, but guess what, if the part isn't in stock, you're going to wait for it. If the vendor tells Vivid 2 weeks for a part, Vivid is going to tell you 2 weeks, and when the vendor tell Vivid 2 weeks later that it will be another 3 weeks, that's Vivid's fault and they are totally ****ing the customer? I fail to see how that works.

vivid says EVERYTHING is in stock. they say it will be shipped out the following morning, but its actually on backorder.

other vendors will tell you its on back order, AND NOT CHARGE YOU!

personally i had only 1 order with them. it came about a 2 weeks later than it should have, but i know i wont order from them again.

If it's being drop shipped it's considered in stock. All shops I have ever been to have said that, even big ass places like Autobacs. Part of the reason they moved to a bigger building is to be able to stock more stuff so things like that don't happen. But having only ordered 1 thing from them you probably wouldn't know about that. I understand your argument, but if they charge you when you order it or charge you when it gets drop shipped, you're still getting charged right? Are you not going to have the money in 2 weeks when the part gets shipped or what? Blame the scammer people who have burned Vivid with fraudulent CC's, I would assume that's when their policy changed from ship-ASAP-then-charge, to charge-then-ship.

While it's true that there are 1000's of customers who have gotten good service from them - there are also MANY who get screwed by them. If you had been screwed, you'd also vent out, complain, jump in the bandwagon as well. I have ordered from Vivid and I've gotten orders shipped expeditiously, but the ne time I was told I would get the UTEC "soon" and they charge my CC $980 and after 6 weeks no UTEC and I call and I'm told it will ship "next week"..... well that's one time too many. No excuse to treat decent customers like crap and blame it on fraudulent scammers - that's no way of doing business. There are other ways of verifying CC validity.
I don't think you would be happy if after 6 weeks you have to send payment to your CC and you have no product on hand either. True, Vivid is not the only vendor that has done things like that, but they just seem to do it often. I don't think people complaining here about their experiences are making them up.

Maybe, but I don't consider waiting on parts getting screwed. Which is what most people complain about with them. But then again, when I bought a Ver7 engine from a supposedly reputable vendor on here that lot's of people rave about, and it ended up having a burned piston in it, and was told and I quote, "That suck, dude.", I didn't jump on and start some jackass thread about how much they sucked. I handled with them. I have parts on order from them that I am still waiting on, but I also know how the vendor system works, and I know it's not Vivid's fault. They seem to do it more often according to NASIOC? There's credibility for ya. The guy that started this thread is making it up.

Hey t68, if you love vivid, that's just fine. The two times I had those clowns on the phone, they were rude as hell to me. Now this was two years ago, but why should I go back and get kicked in the nuts again when I have had no other problems with other vendors. I made one order from them and didn't recieve it for quite a while . I tried to cancel the order, and those buffoons said that I would have to recieve it, send it back, and pay a restocking fee. ***? A resocking fee on a part that wasn't in stock to begin with? That was my only dealing with them. Maybe they have improved. I dunno.

If you go to a restaurant and the food sucks, would you go back?

Well, if they're shipping people things they didn't order and making ungodly amounts of profit off those shipping charges, too...Even crappy companies can get money when they steal from people.

And the vividracingsucks.com owner can put whatever the heck he wants on that site, as long as he doesn't use copyrighted images. Danny boy can cry all he wants and threaten all he wants, but the ACLU will back the website's right to free speech.

Back in the 50's there was a mail order soap fraud. A company would send a "sample" of soap. You would use the soap. A few days later a bill would come. The initial package never said it was a free sample... A federal law was drafted that stated unsolicited items sent to you were "gifts" and could not be charged for. If you have a friend who is a blood sucking leech (attorney) you might be able to screw them back, and cancel the charge while keeping the gage.

Backorder does not mean drop shipped.

I believe it is illegal for them to charge-then-ship-four-weeks later. It is fine to charge-then-ship, but only if it ships out that day. Waiting four weeks to ship a part but charging the customers card the day the transaction is made is not only bad business practice, but I believe illegal.

You know vivid is so on the up and up they sent me a used "TXS" FMIC... when I ordered a new one. Nice lovely oil on the inside of the pipes, scratches, etc. Then blamed TXS for it because they and I QUOTE "NEVER OPENED THE PACKAGE". Which is funny since there was vivid racing stickers n stuff in the BOTTOM of the box. really hard to get that in there w/o removing everything and stacking it ontop of the stickers placed in the box.

Oh and since Vivid was screwing TXS by going back door to hyperflow and then selling said intercooler as a real TXS part, that means that TXS could never have been a part of the issue since they never were part of the deal other than a stolen name.

Albo- This isn't Dan, I am a customer of Vivid.
Rickyh- They have improved. I don't see how people talk **** about a company they dealt with once 2 years ago. Taco Bell screws up my food all the time by I still go back if you really want an example.
Snitt- That makes no sense at all. Thanks for contributing though.
Webjr- I read through 3 pages of that thread and I didn't see anything but idiots talking crap about Vivid with no examples, then a moderator basically calling them stupid for doing so....
Bofh- That has what to do with anything at all???
Ktm- Who said anything about back ordered? Learn how the vendor/supplier/drop ship system works. It is illegal to charge upon processing an order? Shipping is shipping, placing an order is placing an order. Maybe they charge a little too fast who knows, but that's not "getting screwed".
XT6Wagon- The first real specific example in this thread. But I will say there are 2 ends to a box, and it's not possible for them to cut the tape, throw in a sticker and receipt and re tape without having to look at the product? Do you work at TXS? Did you hear this story through hearsay or bull**** forums, or do you know it to be fact? How was your issue resolved? Did you talk to the owners of Vivid or did you just come on NASIOC and start complaining?
