Default (Houston)Will work for. . . well money. AKA HELP ME GET TO SEMA.

Hey everyone, I just found out that I have a pair of tickets waiting for me at will call at the Las Vegas Convention Center for SEMA. Problem is I just spent a very good chunk of cash replacing my blown trans and am therefore absolutely broke, sooooo I need work, any work, as long as it pays well enough for me to get my ass to Vegas on or before Nov 3rd, I only have time on the weekends due to school and work but I can do anything, manual labor included. PLEASE HELP ME GET TO SEMA!

Thanks
Anton

SEMA = overrated. Worked a booth as a manufacturer for a few years, worst 6 days of my year

PRI on the other hand, is awesome.

Have you tried looking into the "job thread"? A few people on here have gotten some from there (stupid economy).

Or try craigslist "gigs" tab. I put an add to get 6 holes dug to plant trees at my house, and less than 30 minutes later I had a guy hired for the next day at 8am. He charged me $80 bucks... wife was happy with her trees... and I didn't break a sweat!! God I love cheap labor!

Look there. You are bound to find something... even a position as an amateur porn star! Don't believe me? Click the Adult gig tab! I LOL'd when I read some of those "gigs"!

Example#1 (i won't post the link cause I'm sure the mods won't like that) but it went like this:

Looking for some cute guys who are in need of cash. It is a legitimate business through [DELETED].com and you can earn 1000-3000 depending on what your comfortable with. I am friends with [DELETED Probably a gay dude] and will need to meet you first to make sure your pictures are real. please email me some pictures and we can meet and i can go through the basics with you online for what the standards are. Thanks for the help guys and i look forward to seeing you.

My brother was looking for someone to tow a car a distance of about 15 miles. I called a few towing companies and I one of the best deals was a $60 hook up fee and $2.50 per mile. I posted under "gigs" on Craiglist and within 20 minutes someone called and said they could be there in half an hour and could tow it for $50!

Well duh! No one wants to go to Sema to work! But if you're there on your own schedule, have some $ to play with and enjoy a few parties....

Dig around on the forums, find out if anyone from Dallas is presenting a car that isn't shipping it on a semi. Offer to drive/share driving. Offer to sleep in the truck as "additional security". Save up enough nickels for the burritos you eat on the way. Win?

I would have definitely don't this and more but SEMA is next week and I just got word of my tickets yesterday so I'm kinda ****ed on prep time. So unless I can sell my springs, blown trans, rear diff, axles, and any other parts I don't need then I can't go.

dude, ...tix are $15 each if you pre-reg for Sema, $50 if you do it late (or on-site, ...with industry credentials). You're gonna blow at least $500 on airfare this last minute, plus hotel, food, drink, taxi, ....gambling, etc... just to use some tickets?

It is alot of fun, but mainly b/c it's in Vegas as well. The convention is huge, and takes a good few days to cover everything, ...but then again, not everything is worth covering.

I've been the past 5 years, ...however, I plan ahead for it and am prepared to spend some $$$. It's a vacation for me as well.

Good luck on getting there, but it seems you may be better off checking the Members Car Gallery next Tuesday, when there will be pics of all the good stuff already posted. The only thing you'll be missing is, ...well, ...strippers, alcohol, parties, gambling, casinos, great food, ...

Oh, and as far as VIP Parties go, ....it's open "VIP" to anyone who signs up. AFAIK, Scion is NOT doing their "open bar" party this year (economic fail from years prior?) The two remaining "big" parties are the SpoCom/Formula D party (Bank @ Bellagio) Nov. 3rd & the Pro-Motion/Falken party (Prive @ Planet Hollyhood) Nov. 5th

Sign up here:
SpoCom/Formula D - [email protected]
Pro-Motion/Falken - [email protected]

VIP lists close on Oct. 30th.
Bottle service starts at $375

Hey now, I was just asking, I didn't know you were registered
Well then can I use your "contact" next year when I actually have the money to go? I've never been and both my girlfriend and I really want to see SEMA.

and **** bottle service id rather go see BlueManGroup or gamble that $375 away (free drinks on the floor)
