I thought they looked like ZE40, those are one of my two favorites from Volk. However, I thought they were only available in blue and copper. This must be a new offering. They are gorgeous, enjoy them.

Thanks! I assure you i will enjoy the crap out of them. 275/35 MPSSs going on next week. This is a new color for this year. After some production delays and such, they arrived in CA a few weeks ago and got to my office last week while i was on vacation. Saw them today in person for the 1st time

ZE40s are one of my favorite wheels. I can't wait to see them mounted up with some meat.

vipertoad and 1sick07, cars are looking great! Those are some beautiful shots of your car 1sick07.

I ended up getting my money back from the DAMD wheel being out of stock. I was left with a bad taste in my mouth over the whole ordeal which I don't need to get into in this thread. So I ended up buying the GT-Spec wheel instead. So far I am very happy with it. Feels really good in the hands, and I actually like the larger bumps on it over the DAMD design. Plus my stock wheel had some minor wear on it from the previous owner at the 7-8 o'clock region that bothered me. Here is a before and after of the wheel install. Super easy, only took me about 20min.

Looks good Strauss. Do you have a compass or homelink mirror? If so, pick up a hardwire kit and you can easily get rid of the radar detector cord.

doesn't matter if he has that or not, its pre-wired so he can tap the harness regardless

not a bad start! now heres some advice

no flash. don't use flash unless you can properly bounce it to light the entire thing you are shooting or properly kill shadows. in this case the cars front is lit but everything else isn't.

instead, take your camera, throw it into M (manual), bump the iso to like 4-800 (depending how dark it is) open the aperture as wide as you can to let the most light in, and slow the shutter speed down. will help greatly if you have a tripod, in which case set the shutter button to a 2 second delay so nothing shakes after you press the shutter. then depending on the result you want just compensate F-stops and shutter speeds. if the picture is grainy (noisy) then the ISO is too high

just play around with longer exposure at night, flash--especally built in camera flash is pretty useless for automotive stuff IMO.

here is an example of night shot i took a while back:

this was with a 35mm 1.8 on a nikon d5000
8 second exposure, iso 200, f8, tripod used, was lightly foggy that day

The wire I got works with the harness in the back of the mirror. Wasn't thinking about tapping the harness in the headliner, or if the base mirror has the harness in it or not

Thanks for the advice man! I do have a tri-pod, and I do admit that I am a noob at taking pictures, but the problem I have is its hard for me to mess around in the manual settings because the camera I have access to is like one of the hyprids between a point and shoot and a DSLR. Next time I go out ill definitely try the things you told me to do and see if it works out on the camera! Really like your shot too!

I'll have to try using some lighting next time. I have a pretty powerful LED shop light that might work for this application. Thanks for tip though!
