The reason why the EVO didn't make it up here is again, because of our crash standards which are slighty higher than the US. Because of the FMIC on the Evo, any front end collision would damage the IC, causing mucho $$$ for the repair bill.

Ever wonder why the V5 bumper didn't make it up here in Canada? Well, because the fog lights stick out, in a front end collision, they probably will be damaged, and you know how $$$ OEM equipment is.

Just our government trying to protect us.

i never understood that issue about the v5 bumper... aren't the foglights in that thing the same as a wrx?

Yes, they fog lights are the same as what is in the WRX. The thing is, that the foglight hole is shallower in the V5 bumper; in other words, they "stick out" more. Look at the WRX/RX bumper, and you'll notice that the fog lights are deep within the bumper.

Hence, during a 8km/h bumper crash, the fog lights will be "protected" since they don't sit out so far. Less damage, less $$$ to fix car. So the theory goes.
