I'd do the same for the water pump if you can swing it. I know OE parts from the stealership are expensive but look at the fact that the OE pump has made it this long...it's one of those parts you don't want to have to replace again for the labor alone...

There are kits sold by turninconcepts that look sufficient and have good reviews. It just depends on your goals...
I'm actually looking at Gates OE Grade Kit, not the blue belt one. It's $200 for the whole kit and kaboodle, which is what I need! I'm not planning to build this car up at all. Modding the EJ251 in it would be a bit pointless.

Ok, I thought you were saying $200 for the belt alone...which sounded more like the blue belt.

I'd also suggest you get on indianaimpreza. It seems like those guy have clutch days about twice a year where they all get together and wrench...this would be a great opportunity to learn and a bit more hands on with this as its really not difficult, just time consuming...

Cool! Let's shoot for 7pm!! Anyone else planning to make it out? The Beer Exchange allows those of you that are under 21 until 9pm. FYI

I'll do my best to be there at for 7. I'm not 21, so I'll have to dash at 9, assuming that we've not already gone somewhere else at that point.

That's a biiiiiiit of a hike. I don't think I'd be able to make it - gas is pricy. And for some reason, I'm only getting ~23mpg in my Impreza

I am at the beer exchange. The parking lot is pretty full. Might want to move it over to Shakespeare's lot.

Successful meet, guys! I think we should follow the same formula for future meets.

Although I'll have to remember the soup portions next time. That was a tiny cup.

Hey guys. Haven't posted on here in a while.. If you don't remember me, I'm Cliff, from Chicago. I drive a blue 99 2.5RS and I only come up to kzoo once in a while to visit my girlfriend. Anyways, I got into town last night and I woke up this morning to find that my fog covers and rear spats had been stolen. This irks me and is not the usual welcome I'm used to here in kzoo.

All that I can think of is that it is someone within the Subaru community because nobody else would really know what the parts are worth. So I'm just asking you guys to keep a lookout for a pair of rear spats and fog covers, all painted blue. My car was parked in an apartment building parking lot, not visible from the road, so it had to be someone that was intentionally looking for parts, or someone within the complex. Not really much else I can do at this point.. I always thought Subaru guys were better than this, which is a reason why I switched from Hondas.

Thanks guys.

I will be on the lookout, can't believe someone would do this.

Thanks Max.

There was another black 2-door 2.5RS in the same parking lot, so I had my suspicions. I ran into the guy as he was heading out to class and he seemed like a good guy, I don't think it's him. He told me he just picked up the car a few weeks ago and that he just had his front grill stolen off of his car recently too. I'm lucky that my grill is still there. I'm thinking it has to be somebody who lives in the apartment complex who maybe also has a 2.5, but not here with them. Or somebody who knows Imprezas. I don't know who else would know about parts like that. And I don't know who would cruise through parking lots specifically, looking for parts like this..

I was just told that someone spotted a white 2.5RS with blue fog covers near Howard and Stadium, just now. Anybody know of a car like this?
