Aww man... Legacy doesn't get the keyless access/pushbutton start option that Outback does. Legacy needs Outback's new matte wood trim... looks much more real, IMHO. That's a swap I'd do. Nice to see there's a new "saddle brown" leather color on that special Outback trim. Anyone see a photo of that anywhere?

Am I reading the Appearance Package properly? Memory seats but not memory mirrors? That's only half a solution in my opinion. Adjusting the mirrors properly is more of a pain than the seats IMHO.

It is like they STILL want Legacy to be the disfavored step-child, even now after cutting off it's performance variant. |

My gosh that new legacy 3.6r looks nice. I wonder if the R has a decent suspension on it.

The '12 rides pretty firm, but has a lot of roll in turns. The '13 is said to be "revised", but I'm not sure what's changed. I have H&R sport springs on mine, and it handles better, but it really needs matched dampers to help with wallowing over large bumps.

Hope SOA takes notes on how to package and price options from other manufacturers. For e.g. 2013 Nissan Altima has Technology Package option that includes Navigation, Blind spot warning, Lane departure warning and Pedestrian warning systems for $1,090. It is ridiculous that SOA bundles back up camera with moonroof for $1445, H/K Audio and AWP costs $1795 and navi with moonroof costs $2995.

Me too. I largely supported it, with my few glaring caveats, when it came out in 2010. But man, let me tell you: the folks at LegacyGT.com and SubaruOutback.org screamed about it, for the most part. Very reminiscent of when the 2008 Impreza/WRX came out, for NASIOC folks. Or the 2002, for that matter.
Change is always met with opposition, at first. Well, unless the design is just plain beautiful. |

Anyone notice no 2013 Forester yet? The word was the redesign wasn't coming out until next year as 2014 MY. (which I believe)
SOA stopped taking orders for the 2012 Outback, Legacy, Tribeca and Forester for the MY change on 3/30 (according to their dealer email). No word on the 2013 Forester yet though..... and I don't believe it is related to the center seat belt recall (based on the SOA dealer email). Odd. |

Costs dude. Costs. Nissan is a MUCH bigger company. Quote:
Not odd. Probably no change(maybe colors) and a short MY. Pretty much same thing happened for the 08 Forester. |

One more thing to consider is the model popularity and how hard would it be to sell it. Around here (NorCal), Outback and Forester are the most popular. I rarely ever see a Legacy. I believe the 5-door Impreza will be popular too. |

It will be interesting to see what the revisions actually are - it could be as simple as a thicker rear swaybar (which makes a big difference on the 2010-2012 for body roll)

Plus, my LGT has 128K on the ticker, and of course older cars (especially turbo models) need more attention. Mine's been quite reliable, no issues in the four years I've owned it really, but there's always that nagging "what if?" Y'know I really do wonder if Subaru will bring back the Legacy wagon. Though, for that to happen, they'd really have to separate the Legacy and Outback lines, and not just in name (as they have been, now). The Legacy would need a lower roofline, which costs money on the production line. It's very wishful thinking, but it'd be ideal to have the Legacy be shorter and a little slimmer, but still have a wagon or fastback option. With Subaru's budget, it won't happen, HOWEVER there is a resurgence of wagons in the USA. So there's hope for something....perhaps. |

I would jump on a Lgt wagon, I know way to much wishful thinking on a spec B or GT
