Because the world needs more 'new' versions of something that existed before.

Maybe he doesnt want to be referred to as the 'new' anything. Maybe he would like to be called by his name and not be compared to another.

Eh, Jet Li is better. He took on like 20 guys in "Kiss the Dragon". Tony Jaa can't do that.

Tony Jaa is not fit to clean Bruce Lee's coffin. Bruce was in another league when it comes to fighting and conditioning.

The thing about Tony Jaa is he uses no stunt doubles, wires, cg, etc. It's just all him.

Other than the typical 'one attacker at a time' 'no guns' bullcrap, his stamina is pretty impressive.

Tony Jaa does the same thing in every movie I've seen (yawn). he might be a great fighter, but a decent actor he is not.

Tony Jaa rocks, Bruce Lee was too high up on his horse to notice that everything he taught was the oppostie of what he was taught, and what the principle of Wing Chun is about. On top of that, most records indicate that he only had about 14 months of training before leaving his Dojo to go teach on his own.

Jacki Chan and Jet Li are two great movie stars and even better Martial Artists. Jet Li has a crazy competition record, although it's not on Wiki anymore.

Also, having a ten minute long constant shot where there are no shot-breaking problems is no small feat.

I know. I like him too Tony Jaa just does things I haven't seen before so I like it. I need to get a better quality version of Ong Bak 2 now that I remember.

Another thing is that most of his fight scenes don't look like most movies where you can tell they have practiced it. Tom Yum Goong has some parts that did but Ong Bak fights just looked real.

Jaa's first movie was in 2003, and the second in 2005. He's been around a while, I like the action in the movies even if its over-the-top. Its just fun to watch

you guys who think tony jaa isnt that great should watch "Ong Bak"... aside from the annoying girl and some other corny scenes, the fighting was pretty amazing.

I know im gonna get a lot of flack for this... but ever since Unleashed, I can not stand Jet Li.

Ong Bak came out years ago and was even released in the US a few years ago, what rock has the OP been living under?

No, i don't think Tony Jaa can outshadow Bruce Lee, but still his work is pretty damn cool.
