Man, this reminds of this one night. Actually, this was during the PVGP, I was staying at my friends place in oakland and leaving my car at Schenley, so, after the grand prix, we went to his place, and were hanging out on his porch roof, I requested some tunes to go along with the beeers and all he had was his laptop, and the thing was like 2 rooms away, so he turned it up full blast so we could hear it, but then the battery died on it, and we forgot about it.

I end up sleeping in his room and he went a few blocks over to his girflriends house, and aroudn 2 am, the laptop starts BLASTING music again, scared the living **** out of myself and his roomates. My natural instinct in a case of electronics doign something I don't want them to is, of course, unplug, but, the laptop wasn't plugged in at all!!!!

It was like some terminator **** going down.

**** was funny, but you had to be there, thanks for reading, do you have any programs (AV/windows update, etc) doing mid night process that might be the culprit?

haha i know the feeling i turn mine off at about midnight every night. once or twice a week around 5 or 6 my light on my laptop turns on the fan kicks on and my music starts to play. yeah it scares the hell out of me, im a light sleeper and when it kicks on i grab for my shotgun then i realize its just my laptop. it even happens when it is unplugged this thing confuses me.

Vista will do an update for itself and windows defender no matter what if you have it set to. There is a box to uncheck.

WTF!! Just about burned the house down! Well not quite. Was grilling some huge >2in thick NY Strip steaks outside, almost done, when I went back outside the whole GAS grill was engulfed in flames! Had to use the kitchen fire extinguisher. Smoke everywhere, and I inhaled what I'm sure are carcinogens from the extinguisher. I'm coughing up and blowing out of my nose this black isht. I'm glad the propane tank didn't explode, and that it happened after dark, or else the fire dept might've come by.

Steaks were ruined BTW. Think we're just having salad

Rule of thumb. Don't leave the grill with fatty meats on it ! Sounds like a grease fire that most likely burned through a line.

EFF GAS GRILLS! get one of those chimneys to light up charcoal stat and use coals. gas grills are like fake carbon interior trim. gay in the A. dont have the time? george foreman that steaks!

ok so yeah, i'm alive.
house almost is.
there's ~ 8 circuits and 5 handy boxes and two heavy equipment switches and 1 large lever switch teeing off of .. drumroll please..
these asshats had only 2 120v legs going to the basement 220 box!
like WTF! totally overcrowded, disaster. melted wiring everywhere, total loser stuff. and the boxes were screwerd shut with million mile long screws. thats ok. there's no ground anywhere to be found.

cost ~ 90 bucks for the new box, new breakers, new 6ga line to it and soem switches for the lights and stuff. infukkigncredible. i have no respect for the previous owners. it's actually worse than i'm saying, but i'm jsut too lazy to talk. talke dothe arborist and got the GF inspected/changed rotor today.

helped a friend bring back his 82 280z back to life tonite. the car has not run in years after an electrical issue fubared everything! he's replaced all kinds of relays, the cpu and all kinds of things. we tore into it at 3pm and finally got it running! it was harry for a while but after it ran for a while all the noises went away and it's alive and running good! i feel good about this cause my buddy hasn't had much go right for him lately and it was good too see him in good spirits again.

I got email from PayPal yesterday indicating a refund for the event.

"Message from merchant: Weather sucks so I am cancelling."

I'll shoot Denny a PM to find out for sure.

Think I might have found a good candidate for the swap... High mileage slightly banged up Impreza L. Only asking $1k. Even comes with USDM STi seats. Just PM'd the seller offering to pay cash asap as long as the frame, glass, and door seals are ok.. The car is in NJ though. Anyone want to go on a road trip to help me kick off the project car? haha
