Default AP not letting me switch my map.. HELP!!!

I have an AP, not sure what version (id have to check) but it is one of the first ones to come out. After maybe a year of not using it, I tried switching my map two days ago, but the AP would not let me switch. I've been emailing Cobb, but it takes too long for them to respond back. Is there anyone who has had this happen to them? Is there anyone in CT area that knows stuff about AP's and would be able to help me out (for some $$) of course.. I am running it on my 2002 wrx, and it has been on there since 2002. It had been working perfectly fine for me until now. I even tried reverting it back to stock, but nothing!

Thanks in advance for everyones help

Pete

Pete. What is the exact problem? Are you changing the Realtime map(switch maps) or base map (change base map)?

Volts to low error means the Flashblock connector is not plugged in. On your 02 this is a Blue plug with a wire jumper. It plugs into the white connector under the dash by the green connectors.

If you are changing the base map you need to hook the green connectors up.

This may sound stupid, but whats the difference between base map and real time map. I think that I'm attempting to change the base stage 2 map to the stage 2 hwg map but it won't let me. Also, when i attempted to revert back to stock, it also wouldnt let me... Said something like error connecting to ECU.

I advise you to read the Cobb manual and follow the step by step directions. Its alot easier then typing the entire procedure out here.

The Base map is the entire map that is on the ecu. You must hook up the Flash block connector (blue connector) and the green connectors to change a base map.

The Realtime map is only a Portion of that base map. You do not need to hook up the Green connectors to change the real time map.

The reason there are two types of maps is simple.

Once you have a base map loaded, you can then quickly change the real time map to alter boost, Timing, fuel ect.. for different types of octane fuel. You can also load a security map and valet map without crawling under the dash and messing with the connectors.

Thanks for everyones help. I just dont understand why all of a sudden it stopped working. For the close to three years that i had the car and AP, the AP was working perfectly fine. I was able to change the maps whenever i wanted with no problem.. now it just wont let me do anything.

I think i may have xxtuning look at it.

Did you guys download the updated software for your AP? If you did it will give you problems like that because the same thing happened to me. The AP wont let you download new maps or switch them.

Also calling COBB is the fastest way to get things figured out with them.
