I know that feeling. Almost done reviving mine, there was nothing I didn't swap. Waiting on a new 4ga fuse holder then I should be firing her up. I should be able to make some upcoming meets. I got bodywork to do but its a super sleeper, no hint to what lies beneath.

Project super sleeper lives! 93 legacy L(fwd) with ej20g/turbo legacy 5spd awd swap. Fired up after creating a starter interlock. I still gotta install all the interior and get it registered... insurance should be cheap for a "fwd" econobox.

Its not pretty and theres a ton of bodywork to do but it will be primered/spotted. It might look like a blue n gray panda for 6-8 months while bodywork is done the right way. Do the bodywork right and a 400$ paintjob from maaco can look good.
And my build thread on bbs.legacycentral.org http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=49620

I am up in Viewpoint right now. Soon to be moving to Chino Valley because living and working in the same city isn't a good thing to do...

What color? I have seen a few around.

And just realized I saw a post about where I got the car from...it was from tim's...probably about 90% of the cars up here are from there lol

I had to pull the motor again because a circle clip failed to hold the throwout bearing in the pressure plate. What sucks is the only way to get the clip is to buy another clutch. Luckily the only other owner of a 93 turbo legacy 5 spd in prescott just happened to have his old pressure plate with the clip still on it. So I lucked out and only loss about 3 days pulling the motor out.

Cool Subaru enthusiast new to Nasioc

Hello! My name is Sierra and I'm fairly new to Nasioc. I was curious if anyone in Prescott or Nothern AZ know of any Subaru meet ups. I'm still learning about engines and today I actually landed my first heel-toe downshift while driving over Jerome. Anyways it would be awesome to meet other local subie lovers and learn more about the car brand that we're all so passionate about.

Hello Sean! I've been obsessed with landing the perfect downshift and with hours of practice I've gotten pretty good at it. I'm still not used to heel toe so it feels really awkward. I just need to keep practicing and make it a norm, kinda like what I went through with downshifting. Do you know if people are still meeting up at Applebees or anywhere else?

Its been a while since we had one, but this is the right place to hear about one. Nazsti can get your cell phone # and send mass text when a meet might go on. I've been working on mine for about 3-4 months after wrecking it 7 months ago. It should be up and running at the end of this week. I should have my flat shifting/launch control working good this time so I can shift at WOT. I'm pretty stoked to get this beast on the road finally but finals have been keeping me from putting the final touches on it

Yeah man, lets do this. I met a bartender from bees so maybe she can hook up the cocktails. Safety is my main concern so building a car around safety will be no problem. ;-D. Someone might have to pick me up for the meet, I'm not sure ill have anytime to get my car registered and on the street. My math class is taking up my wrenchin time. Its just wrong. Id rather be getting greasy under the car anyday over solving quadratic equations. Hit me up I wanna check out what damage your working with, plus I got this killer safety tip I should be sharing with all who love safety

Default Hello everyone

Good luck with that math class Sean, I know school tends to work itself between you and everything enjoyable in life. I'm sure it will be well worth the effort in the end. I really hope we can all get together soon so I can meet more Subaru enthusiasts, as well as meeting all of your amazing Subies!

No kidding, it never ends. I went to school to be a journeyman wireman for 5 years and now another 4-5 for electrical engineering.

Does anybody have a clutch alignment tool for the 5 spd? I made my own but the input shaft is still hanging up on the pilot bearing and last 1/2"

Default Rev matching

I have been rev matching down shifts for some time. I am wondering how others match... Am I doing it the hard way? ... 4th gear, clutch in go neutral clutch out, blip fuel to rev, clutch in go 3rd clutch out, go banshee- WOT!!! (safely of course).
Do some do this? ... 4th gear, clutch in rev up go 3rd clutch out, go banshee- WOT!!! That does sound easier but is it better for engine/clutch.
Please do tell

The whole point of rev matching is to not upset the balance of the car while hard breaking and to put less stress on driveline. Theres no need for it while driving around. letting the clutch out in neutral was an old school technique used for worn out synchros and theres no need. Push in the clutch, hard on breaks with right toe, rev throttle with right heel, select lower gear and when you let the clutch out it should be a smooth transition because the engine is reving at the corect speed for the lower gear
