it is true; there are a number of posts on this subject in this subforum. ( https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=2530619 )
you can get the full kit from subaru, or, for decently cheaper buy the WinJet foglights, a stock switch, stock relay, some H11 bulb wires off of amazon/ebay, and dremel the holes out of your bezels- (the bumper ones and the one on your dashboard.) |

In this video you can see how to access the plug, it’s the grey one that is taped up.
You can also buy the fog light switch from the dealer or online there is a link to the right switch in that video description. I don’t believe you need a relay you should just be able to plug the switch into the grey plug and be good to go once you add your fog lights. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pzuZd--LzTw |

Fog lights
The wiring should be there. I had to replace a busted out light.

My friend with a base 17 did this for around $100USD and a little bit of Youtubing. Interested to see how you go with it
