I did my oil change, they had some really thin oil in the pan. Not sure what it was, but it was but the car seems to be running quieter with the T6 inside. Less valve lash and clacking going on inside. They had a carquest filter which I assume Paul Bunyan must have placed on himself due to the amount of effort required to remove.

I did the rear differential change and transmission change, and not sure how I did not notice this, but I was sent the wrong Motul Oil. They sent me 75w140. Ugh.
I luckly only only poured in a few 100 mL into the transmission before noticing.
I had already filled the rear, so I had to drain and refill.

For now I have Valvoline SynPower 75w90. Feels smooth, but kind of notchy in the 4th and 5th gear. Possibly due to the remnants of the heavier weight Motul.
Easy enough job once you learn the tricks.

I would recommend the Plews Liquimatic, well worth the price as it functioned flawlessly and was leak free. Even had a removable straw that allowed the remainder of the oil to be sucked up and pumped out.

I did use the Fuji Gasket, stuff smells, and is a dark grey...not sure what an equivalent would be, but it becomes tacky after a few minutes and seemed to work well enough.
Breaker bars and PB blaster is highly recommended. I used a low weight rubber mallet to tap the bolts loose with my ratchet for the top bolt as the sway bar was in the way, along with the exhaust y pipe.
Having an aftermarket exhaust or a single exhaust may make this job easier.

All in all, I will run the Valvoline for a while, and change it out when I sell off the other gear oil.

Next on the list is a complete detail, inside and out.

Finally received the correct Motul 300 oil. I drained the old oil out and you would think I got a new gearbox. What a difference. That Motul is no joke. Well worth the price.

I did a small detail today, which included a clay bar, some tire black and wheel protectant.
Products:
Turlewax TireBlack
Mequires QuickDetailer
Mothers Clay Bar (Yellow)
Chemical Guys 50/50 wax.
Armourall Rim Protectant.

I spent abnout 3 hours with the clay bar, I feel my next investment will be some mud flaps, the amount of rocks, and grime embedded into the paint near the wheels was unreal.
I found a few touch up spots on the bumper, 2 paint flaws on the roof that go through the clear coat, and numerous rock chips and dings on the bumper along with a few small chips here and there.
This is before any paint correction, with some pretty snarly swirls.
If you have not clay barred your car, you may want to after viewing the above and seeing these below.

I picked up some Rally Armour UR mudflaps from a member on here. After some knarly weather, rain, snow, sleet and more rain, it should be clear tomorrow and the day after so I should be able to install them.
I hope they complete the look, and prevent all the embedded dirt and rocks in the paint that the claybar removed when I did the detailing as you see above.

I should have some photos up tomorrow or Monday.

Mudflappers.

Not really sure how anyone can take an hour or two installing these. I used the OEM jack, removed the wheels and and even had to drill. I spent about 45 minutes or so, and I even had to dig out a bunch of dirt from the wells.
Even though I got them used,I think they look very nice, and hopefully should help keep the sides of the car clean. They look like they belong, why Subaru didnt ship with them is beyond me.
As a side note, Lowe's stocks nearly every part for these to install, if you get creative.
I was sent the flaps with some missing parts, and $5 later I had 8 clips, 2 rubber washers and a complete install kit.
If buying used, I would recommend re4placing all the clips, as one of mine was stripped, and I did not know it until after I assembled it.
Here is a photo.

Hopefully the next photos will be of an exhaust and downpipe.

Changed the plugs today. Man, what a pain in the balls. I did the drivers side first as everyone indicated they had issues with that one the most, and I was done the front and back in a half hour.
It was the passenger side that have me trouble. I had the worst time getting the rear out, it kept slipping off the plug.
I will say that having a ratchet with plenty of teeth makes this job so much easier.
I had a gear wrench with 84 teeth, and I don't think I could have done it without it.
Here are some pics of those plugs. 62k. If you are waiting for yours, I would suggest not.

I put in some 1 step colder plugs in anticipation of a downpipe and exhaust with a protune.

After all that work, I forgot to plug in the maf sensor. Could not figure out why it was running so bad. Doh!

After the plugs, I completed the next and probably final addition for some time while I recover from the splurge of modifications.

Photos of the exhaust, I got the N1 Street model, as the resonator was a big deal for me given the length of time I usually drive. I wanted to keep down on the drone.

Downpipe.
Edit: Cut stock heatshield and count figure out why it would not attach. I had the bracket on backwards. Will have to undue the 2 top bolts and flip it

Stock
That is a sad sight to see after looking at those shiny new exhaust pipes.
Rusted on the axleback flanges, and I had to break the downpipe to exhaust bolts to get them off. Not that I needed them anyway.
What a pain to remove. I forgot about the middle hanger, and couldn't figure out why it would not come off. White lithium grease, with the spray tube makes this 500% easier.
My stock grommets looked great, so I reused them. Fitment with them was a little close, but not bad.

Oops!!! That was not supposed to happen. DIY beware, this could happen to you! It was essentially fused to the flange. About 7 welded nuts, tons of penetrating oil, some heat-cool cycles and finally, it came out. Cost me $50 and 3 hours of my time and my local mechanics to get this stupid bolt out
Luckily, the intercooler mount bolt is the same size and everything, so I put that in there and got a new bolt for the intercooler mount.

Lets see that stock downpipe!
I guess its version 3?

Look at that shiny downpipe installed.
The ac drain tube or whatever it is does not appear to touch or be close to the downpipe at all, you can see it on the left. Maybe I missed another tube.
I still need to cut the stock heatshield and remount it, but overall, it seems to be okay without it for now.
I bent the lower headshield down a but to hopefully direct some of the heat away from the axel boots.

Installed.

I am now stage 2. After getting the seized bolt out, and getting the intercooler sealed back up to the turbo, it is like a brand new car. Everything is so smooth. It just goes... effortlessly. I am not seeing as much boost going up hills or the engine needing to work as hard to get going. It is like a little rocket. I could not imagine the car any faster then this. It is like it has been given a set of new lungs!
I have not gotten it pro-tuned yet, so I am sure there is yet more power to be had.

The sound is incredible. If you are on the edge of this or the race, I would say get this. It is very deep. The rumble is amazing. You have no idea. Videos on youtube cannot do this justice. The fitment, with a little work and lining everything up was amazing. I could have had it done sooner, had I been on a lift or something but overall, I do'nt see anyone taking more then 3 hours for this for your first time if you have read the how-tos and acquired the proper tools.
I would recommend treading caution for the intercooler to flange bolt. I had only 62k on my car and the bolt snapped right off after sitting overnight with PB blaster.
I would also highly recommend spraying all the bolts you can get too the night before when it is hot from a nice drive, and doing so before working on it. If possible, try to tackle the downpipe bolts when they are hot. They were rusted beyond belief but came out like butter, when they were warm and covered in PB blaster.
The ones that go cold were the ones that took the most effort.
Overall, this is a bigger pain in the balls then the spark plugs if you do not have a lift, but well worth it.
Now, time to wash her up and go riding around listening to that sweet subi roar.

I could not begin to tell you how it is that this bolt was stuck the way it was.
There was white corrosion like material on the bolt. Almost like you would see from a battery leaking acid.
I thought for sure someone cemented it, but I can't be positive.
I'll toss up a photo of the bolt today. I am pretty sure I have both halves.

The one closet to the front came out like butter, all downpipe bolts came off like butter, but not that one.
Needless to say, we put generous amounts of anti seize.

Stage 2, while not a complete beast, is very formidable. I feel very happy with where the car is at the moment. 1st gear is riot, and 2nd and 3rd are no joke. 4th seems to be smoother and the power not quite as lacking as before and 5th, while an over drive gear, has the power to perform if needed.

It sounds amazing; which is probably the most sought after aspect of stage 2, and it pulls like a raped ape and is genuinely more fun to drive now.

Next on the list is a detailing. Picked up some Chemical Guys green polishing pads and plan to give the paint a good polish to bring the luster of the diamond flakes in the paint.

I will probably focus on the suspension after the detail, as I am happy power wise with the WRX at the moment. I have noticed my sway bars have begun to rust and my top hats are cracking which would make me assume my bushings are cracking as well, so I am sure replacing those will have a positive benefit to my suspension.

All in good time, though.

Placed some decals on a few weeks ago.
I will be cleaning up the engine bay this weekend, and and hopefully completing the detail on the exterior in the next couple weeks.

At last! a full exterior detail; behold the beauty!

Products list:
9 Hours!
Porter Cable 7424XP
6 Chemical Guys Green Hex-Logic Pads
Mothers Clay Bar System
Chemical Guys P40 Polish+
Patience.
Some More Patience.
Collinite Super Double Coat!

Basically, I started off washing it with some citrus wash at a local car wash. I do not have a hose on my house so I am left to wash my car at a coin wash or at friends houses. I woke up around 6am, and got it washed up.
I spent about 2 hours with the clay bar and a nice flashlight looking for any spec of dirt or dried on, caked on crud. The side skirts and the wheel wells were the worst.
After clay baring the car I found several spots where touch up paint was applied. Ugh! Terrible. That really depressed me. I also uncovered a lot of smaller areas where touch up paint was applied, so I will have to get some and reapply.
I wiped everything down with an IPA, and moved on to polishing.
I had to guess on what pads would be best given Subaru paint, and I feel I guessed fairly right. I could have used a tougher compound, but the results were more then enough to get the desired look.
While there are still scratches, the vast majority of them have dissipated, and those that are left, you have to be very close to spot.
I spent about 7 hours doing the polish, and I tossed on a coat of the Collinite wax.
It was very apparent that the sheen I had been missing from the last car I polished was present in this one. It looked great before, but this is a whole new level.

Photos will be up shortly as soon as I can figure out how to get the links of photobucket...it just shoes a gray bar,,,,

Ended up hitting some debris off a farm truck. Scratched the hood, broke my headlight, bumper and under panel. May be more broken, but not sure.
Will need to have the front end checked, and an alignment done as it seems like it was a bit messed up.
Adjuster came out today, and now I wait and see if they will fix it or not.

After much debate, I was able to get the insurance company to pay for the damages.
I have the date set for the end of the month. I cannot wait.
In the meantime, I managed to score a Perrin plate delete for a decent price off eBay.
It has some scratched where maybe someone washed it a little too hard...but I planned on repainting it anyway. I have some WR Blue that I got as touch up paint that I am sure would look good.

Bought the Cobb short shifter combo kit, installed the shifter and the bushings from Turn In Concepts.
I did not like the feel of the Cobb Knob at all, felt too light weight, and small, so I kept my upgraded Momo knob.
Lever Bushings from Turn In Concepts.
Bushings felt almost like solid plastic, but not quite. They felt much firmer then the factory bushings.
At the moment I only have the lever bushings and the cobb shorty installed and the improvement was overwhelming.
I cannot even imagine what the feel will be like when I install the front and rear shift bushings.

I have the heated seats, so it was a bit tricky with the wiring, but the install went well. The snap ring was quite tricky to get out....

All in all, I am exited to see what changes the shifter bushings will bring, on top of the drastic changes the short shifter alone brought.
