Cool! I haven't heard of someone doing three levels of tint, but it looks great. I have my tint appointment scheduled for tomorrow! Doing MD legal levels which is 35% all around.

Sub-par for me too. 28.2 running avg (last 10 fill ups), 24.8 lifetime average @ 7700 miles. Best fill up was 31.7 after a long highway trip. Disappointed to say the least, but it falls within the EPA ranges. Guess I'll just be at the low end. I can consciously eek out an extra 1-2 mpg with driving habits, but to be honest I'd rather just drive fast & suffer. I don't want to have to consciously put effort into getting good #s. Oil change Friday & approaching SOAs supposed 10,000 mi break in period. So maybe it'll continue to inch up. But considering I'm getting closer to 30 with AWD I'll take it.

Edit: I drive about 25% stop sign at every block city (extreme city) driving & the rest is fast expressway. On backroad highway drives where the speed limit is 45-50mph I see the best #s provided there are no hills. Fast speeds & any inclines kill MPG on this CVT.

When you guys talk about your average MPG, are you doing your own calculations or just stating what the display is telling you?

The reason I ask is because the loaner 2012 Impreza I had was getting 29MPG average in the city based on the car's display. Anchorage is only about 11 miles wide. The car had just over 1k miles, so brand new.

I didn't get on the highway much, but it did get up to mid-30's when I reset the mileage 1 mile before cruising on the highway.

I got mid-20's when I went tearing up a steep, winding road (Hill Side, where our rich people live) and purposely thrashed the pedals. That little MPG meter's needle never saw +.

100% calculated. The gauge is a good indicator but mine always runs 6-7% high. My actual MPG runs 1-2 MPG less than the display.

But let's leave it at that & carry on in the MPG thread.

I actually did the same thing. I was going to keep the AWD badge on the other side, but it was already starting to peel off so I shaved it.

I just finished my debadging. The big Subaru and the Impreza are off. I'm keeping the AWD and Sport badges. I see that the Subaru letters have USA in them so I might look for a way to reuse those. The imprezza badge might look good on the license plate. I think the rear looks much cleaner and classier now.

I tried taking off the front bumper today, but two clips on the corner of the head lights wouldn't budge (peeling from the wheel-well, forward). I want to take off the badge, repaint it red/black, and plastidip the grill. Anyone know of a way to take it off without breaking the clips?

Same here also. Done as soon as I drove it home from the dealership. There was just waaaay too much stuff on the back making it look like a damn billboard.

You don't have to remove the bumper. Remove all the plastic rivet things on the top and there are 4 tabs at the bottom that attach to the top of the bumper that you have to pinch to unsnap. There are 4 screws, 2 on each side, holding the plastic piece on each side of the emblem. There wasn't a screw holding the emblem so it must have been glued on. I couldn't get it off so I left it alone. I painted my grill black to match the car and it looks match better than that sport mesh grill IMO.

I can confirm that emblem is glued/has rubber adhesive holding it in place. The adhesive is pretty heavy duty so make sure to place a cloth or something underneath whatever you use to pry it out of its surround/housing.

Washed my car yesterday and noticed a couple things: water drained out of some of the doors when I opened them after drying the car, and this morning when I raised my window after using my parking pass, it came back up wet.

I remember reading about others having the same issues, but I can't remember if a solution was found. With search disabled I'm hoping somebody that had the issue can chime in.

For me they replaced my felt strips. I don't think it was the felt strips themselves but rather the fit/installation of them that resolved it for me.

Great-looking cars, all!

Roadfly did a review on the '12 Impreza, it was posted today. Love her or hate her, Emme Hall did the review. I like her - she's funny. The reviews aren't super-technical, but they're short, fun and informative enough.

Just a reflector. I considered a stop light but decided it wasn't worth the work since the sides are reflectors too.

Does anyone know if they do make a brake light for down there? That would be cool.
