Torque wrench?
Just finished installing the Cobb Stage 1 drivetrain kit (short shifter, shift bushing, tranny mount) - took me six hours (don't ask), but they're in . . .
Anyway, is there anyone who can lend me a torque wrench? I want to check the torque on those bolts . . . oh yeah, I also need to know what the torque spec is on the tranny mount bolts! Thanks!

Just be careful though. Last time I checked, the "cheaper" 3/4" torque wrench @ Crappy Tire measured torque in inch-lbs, and not ft-lbs. I ended up going to Home Depot and picking up a torque wrench there for like $90 or something like that. It's a good investment to buy your own torque wrench if you plan on changing your own wheels and stuff! LaterZ! Darren!! |

Sometime the inch pound torque wrench is enough. It all depends on what you are using it for.. just remember 12 inch is equal to 1 foot.

I have had a Craftsmen for 10 years now and it works great but unfortunately mine is in inch/pounds newtons/meters.
You can get a 3/8 0-75ft-lb for $23 or a 1/2 0-150 ft-lb for $25. http://www.sears.ca/cgi-bin/ic_item....4&itemID=76132 |

Any idea if these cheaper Craftsman wrenches are any good? I can't imagine that you need to be much more accurate than +- 1 or 2 lb ft, anyway.
Last time I stopped by Sears the only ones I saw were $80 and up . . . |

I prefer the kind that clicks when your reach the torque limit over that kind where you have to read the scale. You could also try KMS Tools, or Princess Auto. I think my dad got an ITC brand torque wrench (of the more expensive style) from one of those places fairly cheap.
