P0325 - Knock Sensor Circuit Malfunction
Any insight?
Did some reading and found that excessive engine vibration will give the sensor certain signals that may be inpreted at knock by the ECU. The ECU in turn retards timing to -10 degrees, which is exactly what i'm feeling the past month. I just put in a new MAF sensor thinking that my recent experiment with a open filter (K&N Cone) blew the MAF (remember, 99's got MAF issues). However it's not the MAF. But the MAF low Input code did go away. What i have left is P0325 - Knock Sensor Circuit Malfunction I'm going to get STi mounts. Good excuse to get them, been wanting them. If the controlled engine vibration doesn't relieve the false signals, then I guess i need to replace the sensor? I have 125k Miles, AND am running a proecm, so going to the dealership is out of the question i guess. Thanks, -Gagan

this is also referred to as the ghost knock
some techs r moving the sensor to a different spot <not gonna say where because im stupid> but it supposedly cures the hesitation <in some cases> |

I just got the same code. 98RS 130000 Miles. No mods.
Slight hesitation sometimes at lower RPM triggers the CEL. Any more ideas guys. Will a new knock sensor fix the problem? Could it be wires, coil? |

I found this on edwrench..... worth a shot even though it was for 95 legacy.
insider info. 1995 Subaru Legacy - DTC P0325: Knock Sensor Circuit Malfunction If you encounter a CHECK ENGINE light with a DTC P0325 on a 1995 Subaru Legacy, check to see if the knock sensor mounting bolt has been torqued too tightly upon installation. Also check the threads of the sensor mounting bolt and the thread surfaces of the block to see that they are clean and not corroded. Any corrosion should be removed before installing the bolt. The correct torque for the mounting bolt is 15-19 ft. lbs. This information is not found in the service manual. |
