I actually like it blue, instead of red. I noticed it right away, and for me, it ties into the blue screen on the stock H/U. Now if I change my H/U maybe it would seem weird to me.

Does the STI have any other interior lighting that may be blue? Could just be a shared part thing.

So I'm now home from Iraq and finally get to see my sweet new 2.5. Now I have read quite a bit about the car, but because I wasn't able to drive it I havent got started on any work so for those of you that have I have a few questions. 1. Can you use the Cobb Access Port to change the A/F ratio on the 2.5? 2. I'm stuck between what kind of springs I want,... its my daily driver, tein? Eibach? STI? 3. Where can I get Slotted rotors and Hawk pads? 4. Is there a real ram air that fits w/o cutting my maf sensor off the plastic one? 5. Stock WRX exhaust or custom 2.25"? I don't want 3" cuz not enough back pressure. If I get custom, it will be mandrel bent with no resignater.
BTW its my first Subi.

The only major mod I've done are the STi springs. Great for a DD.

Just in case... Slotted/drilled rotors are cool for show and DD but if track running is planned; all they'll do is reduce surface area for your pads to bite.

Those with STI PINK on their 2.5i.
Do you feel much difference at all?
Handleing, the stance, etc. . .
I was thinking about going PINK or the SWIFT springs.
What do you guys think?

I put the pinks on my OBS and their was a noticeable difference in both stance and handling. If your looking for it to handle better get a rear sway bar alone with the springs.

stupid noob question.... i know i should hit the search button but i am lazy...
going to the dealership to pick up the new 2009 2.5i 5door. It is registered and ready and got it for $16,500.
but my question is, is the rims the same as a 2003 WRX? or any other subie wheels fit on this car? Got some 2005 leggy gt wheels, 2003 WRX wheels, and aftermarket 17s for the wrx.
did they change offset or bolt patterns? the dealer is telling me they changed it in 2007-2008

The drop difference is lower than the drop on the WRX?!

i am rolling with 2003 wrx rims on my 2008 2.5i as we speak for my winter set up, so yes they fit

No the drop is not less then it would be on the WRX, it's the same. You need to remember the OBS is higher stock so it wont sit as low. Don't quote this but i think the OBS has a slight body lift... anyone know this for a fact?

Yes, stock OBS are slightly raised compared to 2.5i's. I believe ~.5 inches taller. That is why when I had the pinks put on my OBS, the drop was more significant. Big improvement over stock.

a high flow air filter will have the same affect, no need to waist 200 bucks on an intake. Put that money to a rear sway bar

Do you know what actually causes the rise in suspension on the OBS? Did they change the mounting locations (as I believe they did on my '97) or is it a change in one (or more) of the components, or a spacer...? Any ideas?
