How far do you live from the Subaru dealership? I am sure they are carrying plenty of the 0w20.

And no, I am sure whenever they do something with the 3.6, everything will be 0w20. Hmmm......unless the new DIT is 5w30. Doubt it though.

Isn't that an XV?

Only 2 differences I see. Wagon and little extra lights near the fogs. How does the JDM look soo different than ours?

Our local dealer always seems to be out of it. I usually have to drive 40 miles to get it.

I agree. Hope their shield is made fairly well. But if you plan on going offroading extensively with it, I assume you will want to go with an aftermarket replacement?

I'm curious how they service their customers cars(unless they don't) since most of them run 0w20 now. Tell them to order extra for you. Buy it in bulk. I bought an entire case of filters from my dealership(even though I work here) so I can do it even on the weekends(since our service is closed). Just do the same thing with the oil.

Maybe someone should start a poll. Will the new Forester turbo model in North America be called the XT or the DIT? The SOA and SCI press releases carefully avoided the issue and no pictures with rear views of the vehicle showing insignia were provided.

I think it will remain the Forester XT.

The LED lights are an option (the drl down next to the foglights) - the grille/bumper has traditionally been a little different (particularly the rear), so I think even if we buy them from Japanparts or someplace like that, that we would be able to get them to fit. also, the fender flares are less pronounced for the JDM version (though that could be an illusion from the pictures)

the DIT engine, though... that would be cool (approx. 300hp/300ft-lbs) but it's only offered with the CVT for now. I wonder how close the engine in the '14 FXT will be - or more specifically, how easily it will be to bump the power levels up to the JDM Legacy...

Little things add up bro. Ask yourself, do the JDM ones look better ?

Most likely XT since the NA market is already familiar with the badge. Whether they add a DIT badge, maybe. Depends on how they want to push/advertise the new engine (like how Ford uses the Ecoboost badge).

I am more concerned with a foot or two of snow. It's not uncommon for me to "plow" snow with the front of my vehicle.

LaneWatch system camera (just like in Honda Accord)?

Quote:
LaneWatch uses a camera embedded in the passenger-side mirror to show a wide-angle view of the adjacent road on an 8-inch display in the dash. The camera image automatically appears when the right-turn signal is activated; it can be activated manually by pressing a button on the end of the turn-signal stalk. Although LaneWatch provides a clear view of what's in your passenger-side blind spot and beyond, it has a few disadvantages compared with a typical blind-spot warning system.

It doesn't provide an audible warning or a visual alert when an object is detected. Instead it relies on the driver paying attention to the in-dash monitor, the side mirror or both. Of course, Honda notes, "Drivers are encouraged to visually confirm roadway conditions prior to changing lanes." And LaneWatch works only for the passenger side; there's no camera in the driver-side mirror, although it does have a convex strip on the outer edge that gives a wide-angle view.

Honda says that the typical field of view for a side mirror is approximately 18 to 22 degrees and that the field-of-view provided by LaneWatch is approximately 80 degrees, or about four times greater. LaneWatch also has three "reference lines" that approximate the length of the host car so that the driver can judge how much room he has to change lanes.

LaneWatch comes standard on the Accord EX, EX-L sedan and EX-L Coupe. For models equipped with navigation, when a maneuver prompt and LaneWatch are both in use, the image changes to a split-screen view so that LaneWatch and turn information can be displayed simultaneously. LaneWatch can be switched on or off by the driver, and the three on-screen reference lines can also be deactivated.

This control system blind spots on some cars Volvo.

That's why I said JDM. The USDM EyeSight consists of the two cameras in the interior. But every JDM EyeSight Foz I've seen has the mirror cameras.

I don't even know yet if we'll have EyeSight in the USDM Foz?

There's a scavenging oil pump on one of the exhaust cams.. the turbo has it's own mini sump.

Are the current CVTs in the Legacy and the all new high torque CVT supplied by Fuji AT? (FHI and JATCO joint venture)

I heard it will. I also heard the 2014s EyeSight is 3rd gen. Makes sense after seeing that pic.

Remember XV Crosstrek at 33 mpg.

Kostamojen may have been talking Foresters: turbo 2.0 vs NA 2.5, though.
