Default Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2

Anyone running these? They look pretty close to the PS2. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

The Pilot Exalto absolutely thumped the AVS100 and RE750 in a comparison test. I also believe this is the OEM tire for the Renault Clio 182 in Europe, which has gotten rave reviews for handling.

I'm seriously thinking of these for my next summer tires. I don't need the full on grip of, say, PS2s or S-03s. What I want is a poised, progressive summer tire, one that balances wet and dry grip, telegraphs its breakaway, wears well, and is reasonably quiet. This seems to fit the ticket.

This past summer I bought the PE2. This was a great buy. I was looking for a daily driven, comfortable quiet tire that can handle some agressive driving. It really is a great balanced tire. Lots of feedback and quick response in both wet and dry conditions. I don't feel like I compromised one(wet) for the other(dry). The ride is smooth.

I really like the PE2. I have a set of snow tires which I never mounted this year. I didn't want to give up the ride. Not a good tire in hard packed snow,(obviously) but I was never worried.

I'll be at NHIS or Limrock this spring. I think this tire can handle it. Just have to wait and see.

Cool, thanks for the review.

Anyone else? Luke, had any experience with them, or customer feedback? How do these compare to the top hi-po tires like the S-03 and PS2?

I am looking at these to replace my RE750's. I like the RE750's but thought I might try something else. The tirerack test gave the PE2's a good review.

any other reviews, feedback for the Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2

thanks

i just got a full set of the michelin exalto pe2 for my stock rims (I was running the stock potenze re92's before) they are very quiet compared to the re92's and the tire wall is aobut 1/2 an inch smaller resulting in the slightly lower look of the car which looks nice. They are not only much more quiet on the highway (I have a wagon so it's nice), but they also ride smoother as in the bumps are more smooth with them... also when you break traction, they produce not the same high pitched squeal that the re92's did, but a much lower sound as in the pitch is much lower... I like them quite a bit. they were 130$ a piece from sears.

Don't think you would be disappointed. I had the Bridgestone SO3s and after reading up on several different choices when I needed new tires, I went w/the Exalto's.

There are every bit as good as the SO3s, with a much quieter ride and with some expected longer life.

Not rated for snow, though. There are Ultra Performance Summer tires, not All Season.

thanks. the fact that they seem to have a softer, more quiet ride than most other UHP summer tires sounds good to me. on the other hand, i would be getting 225/50 16" most likely and i wonder if the side-walls would be too mushy.
