looks ok.
always bracket your exposures. when I'm going for a good picture, I try to take at least 3 shots at different exposure levels. you can have the camera do this, it is called bracketing. those pictures you took are extremely hard to get a good exposure on. you will at least need photoshopping two images together to get even exposures, or use a graduated ND filter. http://www.singh-ray.com/grndgrads.html http://www.singh-ray.com/srgnd2.html I used graduated ND filters on these shots: |

ahh soo...but doing bracketing I could use diff parts of each image and superimpose them to get the same, if not a better, effect.
yeah? |

...also, how do I make something like that area look as good in a photo as it does in reality...it's not just 1 thing to focus on, it's the whole place ya know.

Yep those pictures look good but, not real. I doesn't seem like it would look the same if I was standing there.

you chose the wrong time of day to shoot that.
lighting is bad, and colors are there just to exist.. also, subjectivly, i would want to ground the water.. if you start out looking over water with no base in the foreground you are implying that you want to suspend the viewer in a moment... no ground = etherical moment... so right off the bat i'm looking for something amazing to focus on, and there is just a dark placid, park where i might have a bag of fast food on break from a seminar... |
