Exclamation Music Geeks: Suggest new music for me!

Hi kids!

So I've been rocking out to Ted Leo & the R/X'ers Hearts Of Oak CD since I caught them live a couple weeks back. It's awesome, but now I need more music.

AC Repair, I'm still trying to find that Black Keys CD... but in the meanwhile, there's a void that needs to be filled. Cowbell optional.

So, suggest CDs, and gimme a good reason why I should check it out. I'll pick a couple every so often and go out and buy 'em. My CD collection has been stagnating lately, so do what you can to help... now.

i've been into . . .

Pedro the Lion - Achilles' Heel
back to his sadsack roots. i love it.

some ridiculous Guns n' Roses tribute
nothing like hardcore bands covering "Estranged" and "My Michelle" . . . actually, Dillinger Escape Plan's version of "My Michelle" on this thing is kill4r.

Yep, my girlfriend recently picked it up and I've been listening to it quite a bit. It's like extra-bleepy-bloopy Pet Shop Boys.

Try Zero 7 -- great Brit band. Hawt chicks.

The older stuff was trip hop, but their new album is more ambient lounge type - chill stuff.

If you need something to bring you back up after listening to the scrEMO bands everybody else seams to be into, go pick up some Mad Caddies, either "Duck and Cover" or "Quality Soft Core". They are the greatest band on earth and nobody sounds anything like them. Think a combination of Punk, Ska, Polka, Dixieland, Rockabilly, and Reggae, all blended together so seamlessly it could be its own genre.
