Yeah my rev limiter was there also in the 62 and I was trapping mid 130s in 4th with a little room left so it just has to be our difference in tires if you have the same trans. I haven't used 5th gear yet in the 1/4th. Multiple tracks also so it's not like my tracks timing equipment is off or something which is already pretty rare I bet. My 594whp was at 30.5 psi but my passes at the track were on 33ish from memory. On my laptop i think i may have a log or two of me at the track ill try to find it and send it to you tonight..not my 10.4 pass but i assume the trap should be right around there, then you can take a look at how my 62 was doing and give you a idea on your trap may be. Yeah, that would be cool to look at. Knowing your actual tire size as well as your car's weight would help a lot. My car should be at least a few hundred pounds lighter than an average GR STI so that should help traps quite a bit.
Full weight on a GR STI is listed at 3,384lbs so with a few minor reductions and a lightweight driver that would still put it around 3500lbs. My car was around 3,100lbs last year with a full tank of fuel and driver. Now I have no uppipe/downpipe/exhaust so I hope to be close to 3,000lbs with under a 1/2 tank of fuel and driver. Based on those rough numbers and assuming both cars have 650HP the internet tells me this: Your ET / MPH computed from your vehicle weight of 3500 pounds and HP of 650 is 10.21 seconds and MPH of 132.37 MPH. Your ET / MPH computed from your vehicle weight of 3000 pounds and HP of 650 is 9.70 seconds and MPH of 139.35 MPH. These calculators assume a super good launch. The ET's are usually better than most people with Subaru's can do for a given trap. I believe it's like 1.2 or 1.3s range for 60'. It's very hard to get that with a Subaru even on slicks, but the traps should be somewhat accurate. |

On my old fp red I was down to 3250 with driver but I since added a lot more stuff back into the car plus surge tank and stuff.
I will weigh the car today also outside of the surge tank it should be about the same weight as the 62 was. I know my drag radials are 26 inchs tall so that's what my log from the track will be on. My winter tires are the mystery. With 700hp and 3,300 pounds what is its estimated trap? Not that I'm 100% on the accuracy of vd yet. Sent from my iPhone using NASIOC |

Time to put a 26inch tall tire on helps a bit to draw it out to a higher mph. M and h drag radials are only like $550 shipped thru a guy around me who has a couple sets left. I am buying a set tonight. Sent from my iPhone using NASIOC |

Just bought a set today and he said I bought the last set he had bad luck :/. I dded on a set all last summer would have made it more but I must have hit a pot hole pretty hard as the side of one bubbled I noticed when I went to put it back on . Id still buy these for full price though it is a claimed 26 inch tall tire 245/45/18, lasted a whole summer outside of the michigan roads. They are M&H cambered drag radials. I have the same gearing, and doing the same number of shifts. I think my lighter weight is helping quite a bit though. EDIT: Just saw you dyno'd at 570WHP Dynojet. The time seems pretty on par vs. what my Virtual Dyno is telling me. Last edited by xluben; 03-30-2015 at 11:31 PM. |

I'm hoping to break into the 4's when I go to a SD tune in a couple of weeks and can hopefully add a couple of psi boost (20 now going to 22). As long as it doesn't pull timing... |

Yeah, watching the tach jump up and down through multiple gears looks fast, but it would really be much better off if I could just make it through all in one gear like some of the 5MT's or high revving 6MT's can.
When I have all the clips trimmed down to just 50-100mph to check the times I sometimes watch through them all and then it's really much more obvious how close they are in actual time. |
