Default I'm taking my car in to the dealer for syncro problems, will I get a loaner car?

I'm just wondering... I have never owned a car with a factory warranty before. I'm taking it in to my local suby dealer. If I wanted a rental/loaner are they supposed to give me one? I bought the extended warranty if that means anything.

It all depends on the dealer's policy. Some give loaner cars, some don't. Usually if you take it to the dealer where you bought it, they give you a loaner. My current dealer gives a loaner if you take it in for the 15k, 30k, etc. services no matter where you bought the car.

It all depends on the dealer. But if they don't do the loaner thing, and promise the car by (whenever) and don't deliver, you can ask them to rent a car for you. I've done that before (and ended up in an Aspire because I was young and stupid).

It also depends on your warranty. One of the reasons I got the Subaru factory extended warranty is that it provides rental car coverage for any non-maintenance repair that is scheduled to take > 1/2 day.

this is a major plus to me since I've spent big $$ on rental cars in the past waiting for Subaru to deliver a part, etc.

SOA will reimburse you up to $30/day to cover a rental while your car is in for warranty work. Contact SOA directly, the dealers usually just say no.

Subaru covers the cost of rentals when it is a warranty repair. At least that has been my experience at the Scooby dealer. Make sure you file a warranty claim at Subaru headquarters and then talk to the customer service rep and ask him/her about the car rental. They can put it all on the computer and make arrangements with payment with the dealer. I have to take my car in tomorrow for warranty work and they are providing a rental car.

everything said above is correct. another thing that you may want to do is call the dealership and talk to the service guy you are dealing with and tell them that you want a loaner. usually the loaners are gone early in the day and then you have to deal with rentals.
