Wouldn't that just be an orange Impreza 5-door?
Here's a screencap 350Nm = 258lb/ft. Please bring that engine here. Impreza 5 door for comparison http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2012-...photo-4070743/

Also, what was ever the point of the Outback Sport? It was a more lifted Impreza Wagon/hatch with better option. What is the point of the Mini Countryman vs Clubman? Just a lslightly larger Mini w/ 4WD. What is the point of the Nissan Rogue vs Juke, etc etc etc. |

True about the Forester...
As far as other companies go: Rogue is over 20 inches longer than the Juke, with a six inch longer wheelbase, little over an inch more ground clearance and over a inch wider. Definitely a much larger vehicle. Countryman is four inches wider, two inch longer wheelbase, six inches longer, than the Clubman. The Forester and the XV are much closer in terms of overall sizes versus the other models. Guess it does all hinge on when the Forester goes larger, and when. |

Forester has more cargo and head room, dual zone climate control, and a turbo option. XV will certainly be a couple thousand cheaper and the XV couldn't have one of the cooler things the Forester has; the nice BIG moonroof.
I think it will take some sales from the Forester. |

DIESEL? Heck yes. Nicely done Subaru. Now to get anything turbo diesel in the US would be a pleasure.

I like the interior of the XV, I think it's a good indication of where Subaru is going and it gives me hope for the new WRX/STI: I'm digging the central in dash display. If the WRX/STI will have this with GTR style information center, I would be very happy.

I want this badly now! My question is does it still get around 36MPG or did it become a pig? SOA Blog, could you please answer this? It'd also be nice to hear if we will get this is the US, hopefully as a late 2012 model so the wait isn't so damn long!
By the way, the Start/Stop feature needs to be added to ALL Subaru's to increase MPG's especially on the Tribeca! |

I want this XV with Diesel and the dual range. Give it a little more tire lift with some off-road tires and it would be epic.

I am real excited about the dual range tranny. I loved the one in my brat, even though it was a 4 speed.

Germany for one.
http://www.subaru.de/allrad-fahrzeug...k/motoren.html I think the other EU countries can also get it with the 2.0D. Guy |

I wonder who will be the first to retrofit the start / stop system into the 2012+ USDM models?
I'm going to see if it's strictly ECU based... |

I'd like to know if the headlights have an LED as it looks like it and the 2012 Impreza have eyebrows.

Some more images of the XV on SOA's FB page.
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater Interesting that these would posted by SOA, when the car has yet to be announced for this market. Think that might tell you something? Bob |

Needs roof racks, RA mudflaps, projector retrofits, and some Hella 500FFs in front.

I am in love with the XV. It just reminds me of a real AWD rally car. It can bomb down a rutted dirt road, tear though deep snow, and get you 36 mpg on the highway in comfort. Leather, navigation, cool looking trip computer...
I seriously seriously hope Subaru is putting the Harmon Kardon audio in there. The audio system in my old 2009 Subaru Forester XT Limited (with navigation and the subwoofer kit) sounded terrible. The audio was as bad as the 1998 Kia Sephia I had back in college. It really was a complete embarrassment to have such a terrible audio system in a $32K (MSRP) vehicle. My only wishes for the XV is for it to be offered in WR Blue and that it has the Harmon Kardon audio system in it. Maybe try to get a contract for the Sirius Travel Link (or XM Weather) for though of us who like to pull up the weather on the go. I would love to be able to pull up a Doppler Radar image of the area I am in. |

I really like the design. I wonder if it performs better in snow when wrx. I did not see, but did Subaru release official weight? I would also like to see how cvt transmission does off road. Time will show.

Europe will also get the new FB16 engine apperantly. It would be interesting to see what bore and stroke it has (I assume a destroked FB20) also taking into account it may be the base for turbo charged versions...
Oh and the dual range transmission cannot cope with torque over 180 lb-ft... |
