Default CEL: p0325 and p0420

BONE stock 99 imprezza automatic AWD, 195,xxx miles. Had the car running for a week and out of no where CEL! I smell gas but no hesitation at all.

p0325 - knock sensor, plan on replacing and maybe front O2 sensor?
p0420 - catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 1. Like I said no hesitation at all no stuttering but on accusations the ignition will get stuck in lock for like a minute till I shimmy it and start it. Any ideas on this one?

I replaced the ign. cyl. because it was dragging when I turned it and that was all it took. Guess the 261K had taken its toll on the tumblers. If it is the cyl., they are not that hard to replace and you can pick them up at most parts houses as long as you don't mind having one key for the doors and one for the switch. Knock sensor is under the intake on that one, I believe, toward the rear of the engine. Might try replacing the rear O2 also. P0420 is Cat eff. below threshold and replacing the rear O2 is cheaper than a Cat and can set that code if it is shot. You'll replace it when you replace the cat anyway, so give that a shot first, IMO, HTH!
