Also, i installed the Cobb turbo heatshield today and found one of my dp nuts was missing!!! but the loose bolt was still there, ,have no idea how long it has been missing, hopefully nothing is warped, so I raced to Pleasance and got a tempered nut and tightened her down. Heat shield went on easy peasy. Looks great.

I've been trying to teach my wife to drive a manual car. She does fine in a parking lot and around the neighborhood but gets very nervous after a stall out at a stop sign and then can't get it together. Anyone have a similar experience and have some tips? Maybe something that worked for you when learning or has worked when teaching?

Honestly i remember practicing driving a 5 speed late at night, so there wasnt much traffic, eased the nerves a bit. Dont even ask how I remember that LOL

Lots of patience, positive reinforcement worked wonders with my wife. She tried to learn in past and thought she would never do it til I practiced with her. The calmer you are, the calmer she will be.
Also encouraged launching "high" (2000rpms) with a slow slip til she got more comfortable, but that car had a 8lb flywheel and an act heavy duty clutch. She doesn't even bat an eye driving anything now. |

Not sure how you would feel about it, but maybe try letting her go my herself in a less busy area so she can figure it out without feeling pressure from you. |

One of the first things I always teach a new manual driver is the hill hold.
Find a nice little hill and have the new manual driver hold on the hill, then slowly take off. Do that a few time and they will become much more confident with their improving skill. |

Hey dudes, so I am working on buying all the stuff I need to get my baby back to 100%. So I am having the dilemma of too much input on the forums and sooooo many opinions and would rather just hear it from you guys.
Fuji Bond or Honda bond for valve cover gaskets???? Also Kris I am going to invest in the Aluminum half moons (Valley Seals or cylinder head plugs), I HATE plastic lol. Rallysport has them for like 50.00 bucks so not bad. |
