Hey guys

My wife and i are relocating to richmond next week coming from california, i have a couple questions about the yearly safety car inspection.

My car has tinted windows, 35% front and 20% back and i also have a single cat downpipe.
Will those two things be a problem during inspection?
I know that in the richmond area there is no smog test required according to the dmv website but just want to make sure before i go and pass it.

Also what are most people running tire wise for the winter? AS or dedicated winter tires needed?

Thanks

I have 32 in front and 18 in the back, and am facing my second tint ticket soon so I gotta get it fixed. It seems like they are rather strict with the tint in va. Also from what I've picked up is that the exhaust is up to the inspector. I am running full cattless and have to get inspected my wed. People keep telling me to go to a hole in the wall inspection station, instead of a corporate shop. I'll let you know how it goes.

Definitly go to some random hole in the wall mom n' pop type place, also good rule of thumb the older the inspector the less likely he is to look under your car.

You need one cat to pass inspection, if they even look. Also tint is not covered in inspections, on previous cars i had 5% tint with no issues getting inspections anywhere and on my current WRX i have 35% all the way around which is illegal in the front windows, never an issue.
