This is the last piece I plan to do, and all the others came out nice. This one is really frustrating.

the two top corners on the radio are coming up (have always been like that to be honest but less noticeable). some of the smaller holes like the ac button and similar are also coming up. to be honest a lot of the corners are coming up. i used heat too to apply. i think the the radio part, the best way is to work from the inside out. i originally laid out the 3m flat on top and pressed down into the corners but i think maybe working inside out from the corners may be better...

the only wrapped peices that are perfect are the ac circular vents. im just going to buy a OEM cf kit from subaru one of these days.

What is a good amount of 1080 to buy from eBay if I want to do the radio bezel and a few other trim pieces near the shifter?

It's kind of funny you say that because I removed the Subaru fake cf trim kit to do this, and even though I like the look of the 3m stuff better, I'm probably going to go back to the trim kit if it's going to start lifting off over time.

Probably a 12" x 60" piece. Should be around 20 bucks.

I've been using a heat gun, which might actually be too much heat. I think ill try the hair dryer before I give up hope completely.

I wrapped my Lenovo T510. It came out pretty cool. I don't like how the factory Lenovo rubberized coating wears and starts to age. The DINOC is very durable and still looks great after 2.5 years.

Dry.
The heat makes it bend/conform to different shapes. You don't just slap it on and then heat it. You heat it as you're applying it.

im re-doing mine since i always get frustrated with that part. I would suggest getting 3m 94 primer apply it there to help the adhesion. I should have some pictures soon once i get to working on it

any problem having this wrapped in 1080?

radiator shroud, so i dunno if that sort of environment would be trouble. looking at the specs on the 3m site, it doesn't seem like it.

Use the primer and I don't think you should have a problem.

Make sure you wrap the edges or it will peel up from the heat. 1080 is very soft and formable

In person I get completely different results, I have had strangers tell me I had a nice car, some guys in older American muscle cars who I figured would come bash the 4 cylinder turbo complimented me on the car, and at a few subaru meets, I have had people swarming the roof of the car, badges, and interior, asking me to do it for them, so this stuff in person, though not real carbon fiber, still makes the car pop, and unique.
Those are awesome. I want a set of those but I'm not nearly that good to trace out the sti. Wild man!

Went a little different route with the trim pieces. I thought having them all done was a bit TOO much carbon look -
