If you have the limited trim level. You are supposed to have the 6 speaker system with HD radio, which the tweeters are part of: two tweeters, and 4 door speakers. This raises another question: are the upgraded tweeters just for those trim levels with only 4 speaker, or are they a better set than the tweeters that come with the limited trim level?

Yes, they are not made by Subaru, but for me it wasn't worth the time and effort to search for ones that match OEM -- buying the subaru part means you are getting the right ones the first time. |

I wish I just had them installed at port when I placed the pre-order. I just assumed they were overpriced like most OEM accessories. If I had known they were only a couple dollars more expensive than aftermarket, I would have had them do it at port. |

OK...now i'm real confused. I don't have a limited (i have the premium)-- but i do have the NAV -- so are the speakers and tweeters that are in the car already the SAME as the ones offered as an upgrade under accessories? or are they infact an upgrade from what's already installed?
I don't have the part number for stock, but the upgraded ones from Kicker are: Speakers: H631SFJ000 Tweeters: H631SFJ100 Last edited by BAD SNaCKY; 02-21-2012 at 12:30 PM. Reason: grammer nazi. |

BAD SNaCKY, I don't think the tweeters are the same ones that are in the premium/limited for the reasons in my last post. Also take note that they offer the sliding center console as an option, but it clearly states it's for the base model. They would have done the same if it was tweeters that are the same in the premium/limited models.

I replaced all 4 door speakers on a standard Premium Hatch (no add-ons) with Polk db 651s (the "s" is for slim or shallow depth) and get wonderfully balanced sound throughout the range. I didn't and still don't know if regular Polk 651 will fit but there is plenty of space to shim them out if they don't. I wish I had got these as they add an additional 15 Hz to the bottom end -- from 50 Hz to 35 Hz. Paid $120 for all four. These are well-built units and weigh over 3x what the stock speakers weigh. They are still breaking in and sound better every day. More than enough high frequency despite the low mounting position. You do know that the primary reason to add the tweeter kit is to change the location to where it echos off the windshield right at ear level, right? |

I don't think applying protectants and leather conditioner is going to take away the new car smell. In fact, I think it seals the gases in the materials keeping the odor longer. My 08 G35 still had a slight new car smell when it was 3 years old. I had used protectants on the vinyl and conditioners on the leather seats, and it was garaged. The leather does have a more musky animal hide smell these days (it smells like leather). The Infiniti has a much better quality supple leather seating than the Subie. Even the fake leather sections on the sides are of better quality. But, I do like driving the new Subie because it is light and nimble.

I know nothing about car audio so I based buying them off of a few google reviews (none of which mentioned the 'echoing off windshield'). Everywhere i looked said they basically enhance high frequency responses which is what i felt was lacking? -- the inability to hear CRISP high's and lows from either instruments or voices -- right now it feels all jumbled together drowed out by inconsistent bass and treble. Worst case scenario the tweeters don't do what i want and i want to upgrade speakers later (something better/aftermarket). Not bad since i had $500 to use (already used most of it to buy a trunk liner, cargo tray, sport mesh grille etc). So now i'll owe $6 bucks to try tweeters. /noob |

It's not as nasty as when a skunk sprays near the HVAC intake and the whole house smells bad overnight. I had that happen to me 2 weeks ago. A skunk must have sprayed near the intake vent, and the furnace was blowing stinking heat throughout the house.

My first roadkill with the new Impreza was a rabbit late at night in some fast S curves. No foul smells to speak of! :-)
When I bought my Kawasaki ZRX1200 I hit a possum on the way hone at over 100mph. The smell of possum on my new bike and boots really was a huge buzzkill. |

The Rex is the reason I don't care much about the "sportiness" of cars. To me, this Impreza os fast in all the ways my bike cant be. I can haul ass down dirt roads and in the rain!!
I like the 1100's btw. They had their own feel. But my 1200 has been dyno'd at 130 and I'm going to go with the full Muzzy big bore/cam kit this year! :-) Its a shame yall dont have possums though, other than their smell they really are pretty cool little creatures. |

I tried loosening the bolts and pulling the hitch assembly towards the rear of the car. It didn't seem to move or fix the problem. I thought about grinding the holes out to allow it to slide back more but then it will hit the bumper facial. Anyone else have this problem or suggestions? |
