definitely clean the throttle body and the MAF. That already made a big difference in the sluggishness. I also have a hybrid intake, so IDK if that made a difference at all. I also put some cheveron injector cleaner but it didn't make a whole lot of difference, just made the lag a little less. I would say it might be the spark plugs, but i heard the more modern ones clean themselves at like 5000 degrees or something?
but its definitely the weather, it seems from my experience our cars like to run in the 65ish degrees area. But for some reason around 2 when i get off work the throttle and clutch stiffens up and makes it more fun to drive outbackdream, you cleaned it too didn't you? how did it go for you? |

If your looking for the sound or for a slight increase in hp for cheap, I would recommend a hybrid intake ;D

I want to know exactly how sixstr37 did it. Although I might change some things, it'd be a good start.
I want to have it so they come on with the DTR light, but also with regular lows and highs, but a switch to turn them off in the cabin. So auto on with car, but with a kill switch. Shouldn't be too difficult. Also, more importantly, where did you buy them? How did you install them into the cut-outs? |

Alright so i just did an oil change today, and at 3k using synthetic oil, (why because i drove in really dirty/dusty areas on my trip around the states), I had Lost almost all my oil and there was only oil alittle bit above the low circle mark. There is no leaks, so what could it be?
This is the first time ive had it eat this much oil. prior, at 3k, oil would be down to about half. Thanks |

Installed the relatively new style, dba 4000 t3 slotted series front rotors with **wrx caliper brackets** and some dba 4000 slotted rotors in the rear over the weekend. Should have some pictures up a little later. Also had a chance to install the whiteline gearbox positive shift kit and wow! worlds of a difference. I recall a few of you saying that when you had teh A/c on, the car would decelerate in gear very harshly and this helps a lot with that feeling along with any harsh downshifting/upshifting slop from the transmission. I'd definitely recommend it since its relatively cheap (I got mine for $35shipped from the classifieds) and makes a big improvement. Also, you might as well replace the transmission mount while you are still down their as well. Below I have links as to the parts I used. Happy modding monday!
http://www.rallysportdirect.com/Whit...tive-Shift-Kit http://www.rallysportdirect.com/DBA-...ed-Front-Rotor http://www.fastwrx.com/dbarotors1.html - they no longer make these but if you can find them, Im sure you can get a good deal on them! |
