Element GT52 Tuned at EFI Logics
Element GT52, PE850, APS 70mm intake, APS 525 FMIC, Cobb Catback, Invidia Catted DP. Tuned @ 23.5PSI using Cobb AP v2 and Prodrive EBCS. ACT HDSS Clutch. Tuned on EFI's Mustang Dyno.
Thanks to chris and the folks at EFI Logics for their amazing service. You guys stuck around in the crazy weather yesterday to work on my car. Chris, you are the MAN, for getting rid of the clicking, and for the amazing tune. Truly a Christmas present worth the $$.. you cant believe how difficult it was to resist flooring the gas last night.. It took me 4 hours to get back, but the trip was worth every second i spent stuck in snow and traffic.. Thanks a tonne guys, and all the best for the new shop.

Stock headers and uppipe and not to mention the HF cat in my downpipe... Come spring, I'll need to get a set of headers and uppipe.

Regardless of having an aftermarket manifold/uppipe it should still see 21 psi of boost alot sooner.

looks like every other GT52 that ive seen; its not spooling late.. And if anything i'd bet the stock headers/uppipe help with spoolup as they're smaller diameter and the headers stay hotter

Looks like a beast! How do you like that clutch btw ?
Question to all ( except phatron / djsniggedy ) - spool wise ...which usually makes full boost earlier , a GT52 or DOM 3.0 with the usual supporting mods tbe ,intake, ewg, header ,etc......? Last edited by CVR STi; 12-20-2008 at 05:01 PM. |

Plots looks good and the boost looks right where it should be for a run started a little after 2500rpms, 21psi at just about 3600rpms. |

I had my EBCS zip tied before, basically just hanging below the stock solenoid and didnt have any clicking. When i just installed my Hallman MBC in series i screwed the EBCS to the wall right next to the hole going to the fender well.....now I have the clicking and its horrible. Gonna go get some rubber washers tomorrow.

Ray, not sure if you remember me, but I met you the day we were both getting tuned up at XX by Chris. Nice to see that your car is still performing the way it should be!

The clicking noise is caused by the solenoid itself, but isn't because it is mounted against a metal surface... I believe it is caused by it just being activated, which is tuned out. Chris took care of my solenoid, that ticking sure does get annoying |

if the clicking is just from the solenoid working how do you tune it out? Mine might not be caused by the mounting, but my new mounting point definately amplified the clicking by 100 fold.

I worked on a car that had WGDC min/max set o 50% everywhere (more at higher throttle) and high boost targets at low throttle. It would click whenever you are out of idle. It was a bit maddening, listening to the clicking just cruising at constant speed. Setting WGDC to 0% for throttle inputs <30% solved that problem. |

Tuning out the clicking is definitely tune related.. The clicking is heard at low load levels, for example when just cruising or when the car is at idle and you are tapping the gas slightly. Honestly, it freaking annoying, and I played with my own car until I got rid of the clicking entirely without affecting the performance of the car at all.
There is a thread on IWSTi that was started about it. I emailed a guy a map for the non-believers.. And it the click was gone just with a map change. http://www.iwsti.com/forums/2-5-lite...sed-click.html Quote:

Just got back from my first balls out drive.. all i can say is HOLY **** !! :-)
I've this huge grin across my face that wont go away for sometime to come... My problems earlier seem to have been a combination of a dying stock clutch and a bad turbo install. Needless to say the turbo was replaced and properly installed by ATX Motorsports, and the Clutch replaced by EFI and finally the car performed at the level it should.. Thanks again EFI Logics.. |
