DOM 3 XTR Tuned by EFI Logics
I can't say enough good things about the whole crew at EFI. Very professional and on the ball. The engine bay looks great. Chris is the man of course on the dyno. He dialed in 364whp and 350wtq on their mustang dyno at 22 psi. I know you #'s guys are gonna say that seems low but Chris did say I lost some hp due to the quiet whisper cbe. But I'm ok with that. It's plenty of power for me(and my wife). Yesterday I lost traction again when it spooled up in THIRD GEAR! I still haven't really touched 1st & 2nd gear yet.
Here's the mod list: Dom 3 xtr 2.4"/10cm aps 525 fmic aps 70mm cai aps turbo inlet aps bov dw 850cc injectors 1 step colder plugs tgv deletes grimmspeed bcs grimmspeed spacers walbro 255 fp ap V2 maddad uel headers/ uppipe maddad catted tbe

Looks good and a good amount of power for a relatively mellow 22 PSI

That's a good amount of power and torque for only 22 PSI.

Still running stock clutch for now. Plan on upgrading end of the year if the stocker can last that long.

Damn I keep hoping for a boost log showing full boost before 4k RPM and I have yet to see it from this turbo. Boost peak at 4500RPM is GT35R territory, so I just don't understand why this turbo seems to spool so late. I guess I'm just not convinced that the 10cm housing is advantageous at this flow rate on our platform.

Great numbers and i know you're going to love it on the street! Congrats
I will say that this is almost identical to what mine is putting down with an HTA FP Green and pretty much the same mods, on the same psi. However the Green is making 360 WTQ and boost come on harder at 3500rpms. I find it interesting because there's a lot of tuners pushing these new DOM 3's and it seems as though there really isn't much difference between any of these turbos. BTW - i was tuned on a Mustang Dyno at 362/360 on 22psi with the stock header Enjoy! |

I'd love to see a log on the street as well. I've been eyeing this turbo for a while, and not sure a 10cm housing is the way to go. I would love to see what the 3.0XT-R wheel would do in a 7cm or 8cm exhaust housing. I personally would like to see 20 psi before 4k.

I'm think the same thing! I see the numbers and it looks good, but the loss in spool seems too big from the 8cm... Last edited by Ferraz; 02-24-2010 at 07:47 PM. |

From everything I have read on the xtr you should notice a difference in the topend. I love the topend pull. I already hit the rev limiter once because I wasn't watching the tach and I'm so used to the power drop off after 6k. It always feels like I'm short shifting because even at 6800 it's still pulling hard.

I am in agreement, although aside from the lag, this turbo does perform much better over the older Dom3. If you compare two similar combinations, with only the turbocharger being different, it's clear the ATP spools up much faster. Blue - Dom3 XTR 26psi tapering to 24.5 @ Redline Red - ATP3076 24psi tapering to 23 @ Redline There are several more runs in the DDB, but that's just the first one that came to mind. Hope things are well Ed, we haven't spoken in quite some time. Thanks, Chris |

Things are great here Chris. We should definitely catch up some time. These turbos remind me of the APS SR turbos. Decent power, but tons of lag to make it. In the chart above I believe its obvious that the ATP turbo is the way to go. The power difference can probably be explained by the difference in boost levels, but its obvious that the ATP spools a good bit quicker.
