Off topic but will you be making ford Taurus sho stuff?

Hmm I also like the 8375 but I am worried it would be too laggy for a daily driven pump gas sub 450whp car. Especially since I'm looking for good response. But I do love the size of the s300 in the engine bay hahahhaha

200tq before 3000rpm, 20psi @ 4000rpm that 83-75 is a big turbo but clearly doing well for you. dollar for dollar these airwerks "S" series borgwarners are great values

the 8070 shares the same A/R and external dimensions as the 8375 (BIG)... its the biggest S200SX by a large margin, with my favorite turbine housing of the bunch!! its not as inexpensive as the 7670 but has some benefits

a friend of mine has the world's fastest ford flex @ 12.8sec quarter mile - this 7 passenger vehicle shares the same engine/bay/trans as the SHO. While i am focusing our efforts on the F150 (longitudinal) 3.5L platform, some tech will trickle down to the transverse 3.5L as well...

Interesting the 8070 has the same compressor cover as the 8375? I just like the s300 size compressor cover. My buddies s256 with anti surge cover was a little small. In the end it's just a ricer preference of mine but when it comes down to it ill go with what ever performs best regardless of looks.

I got the biggest turbine housing (1.22 A/R), so we probably think alike

Maybe Geoff can be persuated to offer that turbo S200SX-7670 with a FMW compressor wheel? That would keep spool the same and maybe a tiny better then 8070.
He also gave the S300 a FMW wheel....

I got that you did a reversed, ported GrimmSpeed intake manifold. Was this for drag racing?
Looks like the full torque wasn't realized till after 5K RPM. Looks great on the top-end, especially if the fuel supply pooped out!

Yes, this was with about 30min of tuning on the road, just to get the car broken in and running before winter hit. Tuner thought it might have 570whp in it before I need a bigger turbo. Stock head ports, stock valves, radius valve job, BC valve springs/retainers, GSC S2 cams. Has GrimmSpeed TGV deletes and ported manifold. It's a street car that'll see occasional the drag strip or road course.

Also, this was my first trip around the block with the car, very little throttle and almost no boost. Man are these turbos loud!

What is the best BW turbo to achieve 400 whp with better than stock spool?

I plan on trying to keep it simple and as inexpensive as i can. I want to go efr, ig, ts. Supporting mods will be cosworth pistons, tgv delete, port matched, light port work, dw fp, dw 1200 cc injectors, areomotive fpr, perrin fuel rails, grimmspeed ebc, p&l tb, fr twin scroll exhaust manifold and dp or nameless performance. Might do tomei cams and go one size bigger on the exhaust valve. And i will go sd in the end as well as an e85 map. Gas around here is 92 oct so i dont think 400whp and 400+lbft torque to the ground with better than stock spool is out of the question. I just dont know what efr turbo to get to achieve these goals.

I had a setup made for my buddies 2.0l eclipse, he did a borg warner 57 trim with a custom cut t3 turbine inlet and 4 bolt 2.5 inch outlet to work with the perrin rotated set up (in case I ever need it for my subaru) good to 50 psi and it is slightly bigger than a garret gt30r and will make 400 without being too laggy

The smallest one with a tiny ar. But faster than stock spool is probably not possible. A vf39 is a 6cm (maybe 7cm) hot side.

EFR6758 can hit 400, people have already done it on other platforms. Theoretically the 6258 can hit it too but would take a killer tune and very well designed parts all over the engine bay.

That 8375 is insane, you make the same torque as I do at my peak torque rpm, with a freaking td04, although I hit 300ftlbs sooner. Like holy ****.

May go with the 6258. It spools the best. Im not concerned with hp so much as i am torque. For dd and autox. I supose i would get use to the power i will go with the 6758 but not any bigger. Kind of excited and cant wait to get it done

if you want something simple, inexpensive and ideal for auto-x with faster than stock spool - our stock location EFR 6258 kit would be my recommendation. we are about to release a 2-bolt lower manifold that would work great with this also.

the other option worth consideration is the EFR 7064 twinscroll iwg, that would be a bit larger but still acheive your targets and goals. both of these are in stock right now, pretty rare for the EFRs

agreed the 6258 is a 44lb/min compressor so it could do 400+ as long as the engine can breathe

My BW s256 7670 hits about 28psi by around 3800RPMs. Power levels on a mustang were approx 400whp/444wtq. I dont have the chart on me right now.

Thanks guys. I'm going to run the 6258 and try to squeeze the most out of it. Then down the road go bigger when i get use to the power. Keep in mind that stock power is enough to get one in trouble. I will get use to 375 - 400 whp before i go for more. I already had an 04 STi running 355whp and 390 lbft to the ground.

Integrated Engineering Surge tank with Dual bosch 044 pumps
Cosworth Intake manifold (reverse mount)
Treadstone fmic core
Full Race Twinscroll T4 rotated turbo kit
BorgWarner EFR 9180 EWG 1.05 T4

Finally got to put the EFR through it's paces. I had previously run the S300SX 91-79 .91 AR on the car and was pretty happy with it.
I am AMAZED that a 94lb/min turbo is spooling 400-500rpm sooner than the older 82lb/min turbo.
On the first trip to the dyno last week I ran my 2007 STi RE090 tires which have good tread but are very dry. The car made 805/636 SAE at 33psi, but I suspected the tires were spinning. Here's a graph of those pulls:

And a graph vs the old 91-79- The 91-79 was at 34psi.

I decided to try the dyno again yesterday, this time with my drag radials. The results were that the car held traction better to about 6500rpm, then let go hard. The tune and boost were untouched from the previous dyno.

Now, SAE numbers are great for bragging rights, but we are at 5400' and our correction factor is pretty high. Here is the uncorrected graph, which in my opinion is still a lot of power for this altitude, at only 33psi ( I want to run 37-38 but need traction). A stage 2 STi only makes 250 uncorrected on this dyno.

Someone want to help me embed these?

Default Max angle for oil return

Anyone know what the max angle would be on the 6258 prior to issues with oil return or oil going through back seal? Got two of these going on forged ez30r. Image of installation via link
