Just got my COBB intake and accessport installed along with my carbon fiber front lip. COBB has awesome customer service and they were more than helpful with tuning instructions and even checked my data logs to make sure my engine was running crisp. Next is my nameless axle back which should get here tomorrow.

The airbox for the intake was on backorder. It should be shipping in a week or so. I'll take some more pics once I get it installed

Thanks man. I got it from blacktop aero. It required some drilling so I took it to my body shop and they put it on for free, which was pretty nice.

What do you guys think about upgrading the tmic? I've seen a couple online but I'm not sure if its really worth it without running a larger turbo and other mods.

Wondering If I could get any feedback I installed my tsudo catless dp a while ago n after fixing an exhaust leak n getting it tuned now it sounds as if it spooling too loud at high rpm. After thinking of what the sound could be it mostly sounds like air escaping the back of the turbo and hitting the metal from the heat shield. It can be just the spooling sound that I'm not used to but it is as loud as my bypass valve. Only other mod I have is a drop in Perrin filter which increased the sound of my bpv. Or it could be me being worried for no reason, your thoughts?

If you are planning on upgrades in the future and you have an itch to buy a TMIC then go for it. It wont hurt anything and youre running a short ram intake, so cooling air more before the throttle body from the hot engine bay is always a good thing. Save your money and stick with the stock TMIC for now and when you know what you wanna do as far as upgrades with the Subie then start lingering with the upgraded TMIC idea! You wont see that much difference in performance with just an upgraded TMIC. |

I know catless dp's are obviously louder and more free flowing air from the turbo, but it should be a louder outta the exhaust tips. You should hear more turbo spool now with a better tune and being catless but it "sounding" like compressed air hitting the heat shield isnt good. Best case is to leakdown the system well and if all is good then its just a louder dp. What ya boost'n by chance now witht the tune?

yea.. 18psi shouldnt be making a noise like that over 4k with WOT... id definatley do a leakdown test just to make sure. You can do one yourself if you have the right parts (air compressor, gauge, pvc cap with adapter). You can make one provided you have an air compressor.. maybe $15/20 bucks at home depot for the rest. If not, then try a local performance shop, but idk what they'll charge. I've heard anywhere from $35 to $55 bucks for a leakdown. If you are modding then invest in a compressor or make the pvc cap and borrow a compressor . Its a good test to do every once in a while and after every mod dealing with intake and exhaust parts! You can search google for leakdown procedures or find a thread here! Good luck Boss. Hope its nothing big time!

Did you upgrade your stock BPV? They leak when you get around 17psi, so it may be that. The TMIC/BPV on the WRX are terrible and you will benefit by going aftermarket. The Forge BPV has had a lot of good reviews.
