IMO, their porting isn't close to the best, at all. If you want it ported, send it to someone local or a vendor that does that service here (GrimmSpeed, among others).

Grimm has a good reputation, but be careful of local porting. I heard of some turbos ruined from really aggressive porting particularly regarding the wastegate. |

i have a pnp turbo from blouch and have zero complaints. yes it might not be the max it can be ported but i think they have a pretty good idea of what they are doing. honestly you wont notice the difference between a pnp that is to the limit and one that is just done. the more you take out the more likely it is to cause the exhaust housing to crack. just my .02

There's lots of guides on where/what to port in the WG for various reasons. GrimmSpeed would know what to do IMO. There's even discussion on this lovely forum of ours, including where to port if suffering from boost creep etc.

I'm new here and this is actually my first post.
I've quickly read thru all 60 pages of this thread. I've been considering the 19T upgrade. Does Blouch still offer this upgrade? I know it was on their old website but not on their new site. I've sent them e-mails about turbo machine work and never heard anything back. I know it would probably be best to call but with the hours I work I don't have much time. |

It seems no one ever has any luck emailing Blouch. You pretty much have to call on the phone to get a response. If they took it down off their website they my no longer be offering this modification. You'll have to call to find out. |

With the 19T upgrade on the td04L, he said they still do it. The cost is $325 using a MHI wheel. The $325 upgrade cost is you using a brand new turbo. Using a used turbo will cost more, even a low mile turbo. He said anything thing could change the price on it. Things like a rebuild, worn bearings, turbine shaft wear, bearing housing wear. So it could cost upwards of $600 or so with some things being wrong. |

And at that price point some members have felt justified in moving to a small 16G turbo. Blouch sells them at around $650.

i got one of the td05 16gxt and i have been super happy with it. full boost around 3800. a small 16g i think would be perfect for early spool and some top end. the 7cm^2 housing gives you alot more off boost tq and helps with city driving. get a little better millage cause its not so easy to get into boost while driving on surface streets. witch hunter mod'd stock injector are a huge bang for the buck and you shouldn't run outta duty cycle. i honestly think the best bang for the buck/daily driver turbo would be a small 16g. alot of people in here have found out that the lopsided comp wheel/exhaust wheel usually ends up being a headache. the 16g will do 15 to 22psi at around 3400rpm all day long for thousands of miles.
just my .02 cents |

What kind of power are you putting to the ground? Seems like a pretty good ET, but the MPH just is too low for me to justify this mod. I really want a 105+ MPH capable car. thanks in advance, Josh |

^^^No joke. That mph is pretty common for average stage 2 cars. I'd be pissed if I didn't gain 5mph+ with a turbo upgrade. However we don't know what he ran at stage 2, so that could be a decent time depending on elevation.
A 13.5xx @ 101.xx at bandimere speedway would be pretty impressive |

However, looking at the mafV differences, I was only moving slightly more air from~3000-3500 RPM. After that, the small 16G catches and then passes the TD04L-13T. While there is 400 RPM difference in manifold pressure targets, the actual lag is not 400 RPM. Maybe 200-300 RPM. I honestly would never go back now. I can still brake boost it, and am getting a solid 4.6+ mafV out of it in this cold weather. The best my TD04L-13T could do was 4.38 on a zero degree day. A stall converter would be nice for sure, and would make for some hard launches, but i don't think its necessary with the small 16G. |
