Default PR-LDR Takes Regional Podiums at New England Forest Rally!

For Immediate Release

July 20, 2007

Bangor, Maine USA

Last Ditch Racing, Maine's most gregarious peformance rally team raced their way to two regional podiums at the recent New England Forest Rally. Round 6 of the Rally America Championship, the event is hotly contested as a last chance qualifying event for the X-Games in Los Angeles

Driver John Cassidy and Co-Driver Dave Getchell took 2nd in Friday's River Valley Rally and 1st in the Open Class. Saturday's Bethel Rally saw the team take 3rd overall and 2nd in Class. Of note was that Saturday's podium was comprised exclusively of Maine rally teams. Hotshoe drivers Allen Downs and Chris Duplessis took 1st and 2nd respectively in Saturday's event and Duplessis 1st in Friday's event.

The team's performance sees them sitting 3rd in the Eastern Regional Championship, tied for first in the Open Class. Said Cassidy, "Dave and I are settling in well in the car, and we're setting times that are quicker than with the previous car, so we must be doing something right!"

The event was typically rough and dusty, making the crews work for their times. Said Cassidy, "Starting down in the order made conditions a bit more difficult in places for us due to rutting, but better in others due to the cars ahead cleaning the road. Dave and I pushed where we could and dodged as many rocks as possible!"

The team was forced to dig deep over the last 4 stages on Saturday, having developed an exhaust leak that caused significant loss of power. "We really had to push because of the lack of power, carrying more speed into corners than we usually do because we had less power to get out. It made for a challenging and fun afternoon," said Cassidy.

The team is planning yet another round of development with the car prior to their next event, Rallye Defi-St. Agathe in the mountains North of Montreal, Quebec in September. "We can't wait to get back to St. Agathe and race in the Canadian Rally Championship-the roads, organization and competitors are fantastic!"

The team would like to extend a special congratulations to fellow competitor Antoine L'estage for his superb drive to clinch the wildcard entry slot into the 2007 X-Games!

The team would like to thank their 2007 team partners for their continued support:
