Default make sure its not in valet mode

Yeah, the security system is dual stage shock protection. It arms when you lock the doors. One time, i got in the car and was too lazy to lock the doors, so i hit the keyless entry to lock it.

Then i tried to start the car and the damn alarm went off. Scared me to death.

To adjust the sensivity, you have to unscrew some stuff near the parking brake, and turn some knobs or something.

THe user manual is a good thing.

Make sure its not in valet mode- read the manual.

Question

Guys, did you get a separate manual with your security upgrade, or are you referring to a section in the general Impreza owner's manual? As soon as I get a chance to leave my office for 5 mins, I'm walking down to the car and partially answering my own question. (I do know I didn't get anything with the upgrade that I would call a 'manual' - that one page, trifold thing can't be it.)
thanks,
Kai
