Much whiter. I'd say they are not yellow at all.

i'm assuming the stock H11 bulb in the 2012 WRX is a 60 watt bulb?

the manual says H11 - 55 watts. i just want to double check before i order.

-just my own curiousity. i know the DRL's / High beams are 60 watts... i haven't checked the fogs yet either.

Have any of you had issues putting the h9 back in the actual projector? It won't twist all the way back to "click" in.

The passenger one went in fine but the drivers side didn't seem to want to turn all the way (to 12 o'clock).

OK wanted to give an update. After about 40K on the car my headlights went out today. Lasted almost 2 years. Bought new bulbs. Got the dremel out and had new ones in in about 10min.

For people having a hard time getting them into the socket make sure they are fully flush. My drivers side was a little off and would not turn all the way. Readjusted and I was fine.

Odered the hyper whites that give off a hint of blue.. Along with yellows for my DRL's and fogs. Can't wait til i get them.

Wow, what a difference with these H9's. I thought the stock lights were pretty good, but wow...H9's amazingly bright.

I'm not sure how some of you are getting "white" light though. These are still yellow, just brighter.

For those with white light, what bulbs are you using? I'm using basic sylvania.

I used a small wood file cause its what I had laying around. Then used a "precision" flat head to carve out the rest of the plastic. Took about 3 minutes per bulb

Just ordered a set of platinum white H9 and yellow 9006 for the fogs from headlightbulbs.com and a set of 9006 heavy duty ceramic adapters on eBay to prevent melting the factory wiring. I'll post a review so keep an eye on this thread.

i put mine in this morning, along with yellow fogs and DRL's / high-beams. i like them.

the pics don't really do it justice right now in the day time. but you can see on one of the pics that the driver's side low beam is significantly brighter than the passenger side.

-it reminds me of the factory lights on the 2012 Legacy / Outbacks... for some reason, those halogen bulbs shine nice and bright.

Just did mine. Also tried putting some cheap yellow bulbs in my DRL and ended up blowing the fuse. =( Oh well, you live and learn. Will probably pick up Nokya instead.

I concur. Stay away from the cheap stuff on eBay, it melted my housing and I had to buy a new headlamp assembly because of it.

I like my hyper whites, but others seem to like the regular phillips H9. It boils down to personal preference.

I've already ordered my H9 bulbs (phillips OEM replacement off Amazon) but I was wondering because noone seems to be mentioning this step. Is this step necessary for 08+ wrx?
