Megan Racing uppipe damage
Well......here goes: i did my vf39 swap about 3 months ago and installed a megan racing uppipe to go with the whole swap. everything was ok till i started getting an exhaust smell everytime i got on it hard. for the life of me i couldn't figure it out. i did all my gasket changes in the whole exhaust system. i tightened everything in order from front to back to make sure i wouldn't have anymore leaks. i fired her up and sure enough there was a leak in the system. after my first thoughts on it being the stock manifold, i switched to a header which also cracked several times until finally i chuncked it and went back to the cast mani. the freakin leak was still there. i took everything off and broke two studs on the megan racing uppipe and finally got it out. sure as sh.... the flex was cracked and the steel mesh had tried to make its way to my turbo. lucky for me it never made it. it did make a crappy restriction in the uppipe and bent the egt. Maybe it was the vibrations from the header or something else. i really dont think the uppipe should have blown out like that and it was brand new when i installed it.......oh well

after reading other reviews i realized maybe i should have taken the time to read a bit ha ha. now im S.O.L.......at least my buddy had an extra jdm wrx uppipe to spare. OEM FTW!
