Not selling...I bought that and 2 other oldies for my birthday last October. For being just casual rider, these kinds of bikes fit the need nicely.
They're fun to clean and get back on the road (plus, they're neat). I've been slowly teaching myself basic bike maintenance over the past year. |

My first bike was a banana-seat Huffy Desperado. Rode the tar out of that thing! I've since converted my 92 stumpy into a banana seat cruiser. I'm just tired of reading about entry level bike advice. A thread based more around riding would be nice for those of us who ride more than shop. But by all means, spread the love!

Especially with spring just around the corner. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...5#post29943535 A lot of this comes down to geography. We're in a mtn region, while you're in the flat lands. No hate, just different riding. Come take part in our thread. |

^sick bike... what happened to the old one??
i was close to pulling the trigger on this badboy recently...I just can't justify it yet I currently have a C-dale prophet 4 full-sus mtn bike; and a full carbon Novara Squadra (got a great deal on this one, its Novara's top of the line, I almost bought the comparable c-dale but the novara had better components and nice ride for $1000 less) |

Heh. My Bianchi has a similar amount of gratuitous branding all over it. Had I bought new, I would have chosen something less blatant... But I got it as a used frame for rather cheap, so I can live with the crappy lettering.
My previous frame was custom-painted and had no graphics at all except a very small embossed "Denti" at the seat tube junction. I kinda liked that better. |

I actually like the graphics on that Kestrel.
I don't have a picture of mine, but it's pretty bland. Dark blue with a gigantic white lettered "Bianchi" on the down tube, another big one on the top tube, and a third small one on the seat tube. I want to get it painted, preferably with a classic celeste/carbon fibre fade, sorta like their older "Reparto Course" frames. But without the brand name. |

Recommendations for a good commuting bike - or perhaps characteristics to look for? I need to haul a briefcase with laptop and a suit every day. It's about a 7 mile ride each way...

I would put the suit in a garment bag and put it over a rear rack, maybe get a rack on the front for the briefcase and laptop (paniers, one on either side). I would stick with something 700c

anyone know of any tricks to space a Shimano 9-speed cassette to a Campagnolo shifter spacing? there's only two cogs that don't line up, I've found kits to convert a Campy cogset to Shimano but not the other way around

I did a 20 mile shakedown cruise on the 'cross bike.
Almost wish I had cross tires on it. Trail was a bit snowy still: |
