Kinda wish I pre ordered from that VLED site first. Those look more promising for DRL's with good high beam capability.

I feel like bulbs will slowly start being replaced as crystal lighting gets more popular. Honestly it lasts so much longer. There are good kits out there you just gotta look around. It's all about trial and error. My pref's are def different from most people's.

It's the one of the first kits of it's kind and is the best DRL replacement besides halogen bulbs in my opinion.
Dear God!! Man for that price I would just go ahead and do the outback foglight conversion. Cost the same but uses the H11 bulbs that puts out 1350-lumen, EACH!! So....2700 total.

Anyone care to shed any light on the Perrin lightweight crank pulley? It's for the BRZ/FRS, but I'd assume it carries over to our 2.0. Anyone??

I haven't installed it, however I remember reading about someone who did and performance gains were negligible. I wouldn't suggest it though, if you have to make a warranty claim this may give subaru an excuse to void your claim

Yea man some people don't like the LED idea but it works for me. HID's can be too bright for fogs, melt the entire fog light housing and the condensation inside the housing when it's below freezing kills it for me. If I do retrofit I'm gunna do weeks of research first. 600 lumen's is near the stock bulb lighting which is perfect for me because it doesn't give you too much which blinds you in fog or crap weather.

As per the pulley, definitely not figuring on installing it and the car suddenly being a monster.. Was just curious as to what benefits such a mod would actually aide in.. Never messed with pulleys before.. Only have experience with cams.

The idea is decreasing the rotational mass will increase throttle response. I'm guessing if anything and will give you a placebo effect

HID in the stock housing would be a terrible idea, I agree. But like I said, the outback conversion uses the Outback foglight housing that is made of glass and metal (well, just the important stuff). HID wouldn't be a problem, but using the stock H11 bulb, you could aim the fog lights down to prevent blinding. I love the LED idea, great technology. When they figure a way to make it cheap to put 1000+ lumens in my foglights, I will jump on that. I had http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-pcs-H16-52...fa03e7&vxp=mtr at one point. But they just didnt get the job done.

I'll have to do some research on that. It sounds cool. I just really like the way my LED's cut through the fog and I'm hesitant. Where do I find the metal/glass housing?

Seems like it's a lot of work and wayy more than I wanna spend. A lot of stock wiring would have to be changed out because it's not good enough for the HID's.

Anybody know of any good CREE brake light replacements?
I bought this, but it burns out my brake and running light fuses as soon as the brake light is activated.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/350930090183

I will say, on running lights only, the amount of light was virtually identical to the stock bulb.

Anybody had success with any?

I am considering slamming my car on some Rotiform 19s and Stoptechs/STi Brembos with this as inspiration:

OK, please explain something to me:

If someone is going to slam an XV, shouldn't he have just started with an Impreza? Why slam a lifted car?

My next mod will be the STI front bumper vents. Think it will cost about 60 bucks and hopefully make the front end look a bit more aggressive!

IIRC, one of the guys near the beginning of this thread did this right before sold his car. There are pics, and it looks good.

Well ****. That's exactly what I was thinking. I was at Moore, a newer WRX was on a lift and saw that. Ideas started happening. At least I'm not the only one. I would think that that, with painting the fog surround to match the bumper would look super clean..
