Default Update

Just received VIN and ETA:
8/15 - Order and receive VON
9/?? - Order placed "On Hold"
11/13 - Received VIN and ETA of 12/16

Dealership called and said they talked to SOA. My car is on the ship that will arrive in Baltimore on 12/9. I live in south central PA, so it's only a 1.5hr drive from Baltimore. The only delay will be anything that needs done at port. Since I've been trying to get this car since June, the dealer was told the order will be given priority / expedited, whatever the hell that really means. I need to see who I can talk to about incentivizing my purchase. I think throwing in an SPT exhaust for my patience is a good starting point.

I am looking to buy a Wrx in Southern California. This will be my first car purchase as i am still a student. I was wondering if any of you guys can point me to a good dealership, where i can perhaps get it at invoice or lower.

Looks like the LEO LEADER has left Baltimore and will be in Rhode Island within a day or two...

Anyone else as excited as me?

I was going to, but the other dealer wanted $2500 MORE for the car. Sorry - not worth it.

Have you received any confirmation that your car is on it? I have been watching the progress of the Leo Leader and "assume" that my car is on it because the dealer told me it is on the November allocation.

I live in Southern California and ordered from Renick in Fullerton. Talk to Cathy! I got invoice and a student myself.

From what I have read at a few BMW forums about European delivery and shipping, the cars have to get inspected by customs. This can take 2 days or 2 weeks. They might have done this in transit across the Pacific or along the trek through Panama or it could be at each port location.

As for a VON, I believe since I'm under SNE there isn't one. From what I've gathered the past few months it's that SNE allocates cars differently and doesn't use the regular order process.

On a happy note, three car carriers were driving from rhode island to ct today with imprezas, WRX's, and crosstreks. No STi's noted.

Not true. I was under that assumption as well until a few weeks ago. I spoke to the VP of Sales for SNE who gave me my VON. A lot of SNE dealers are misinformed. I ordered 8/8 and the VP gave me a mid December ETA. He said it is not uncommon for orders to take 4 months.

I don't know what boat my car was on but I did get a vin about two weeks ago. I called the dealership yesterday to ask for an update and he sent me a copy of the pipeline and noticed my delivery date got moved from 11/29 to 11/26.

The copy of the pipeline also had the following info:

Estimated Arrival: 11/26/2012
Schedule Date: 11/08/2012
Release Date: 11/06/2012
Rail Ship Date: 11/07/2012
Truck Ship Date:
Draft Date:
Delivery Date:

Anyone know what schedule date means?

Took delivery of my DGM 5-door WRX last night.

-Ordered end of August
-Von received beginning of Sept
-Dealer estimate Dec. 2012
-Dealer traded with Houston dealer beginning of November
-Arrived at dealer on 11/10

Pleasantly surprised with the car. and I'm patiently waiting for the break-in period to end.

My dealer called me earlier and I asked them about their previous STi order that's scheduled to come in on November 19th. They got a VIN within a month, which makes me worry. It's been 6 weeks for me and haven't received anything yet. I really hope I didn't fall under the 4 month wait category. Ordered on 10/3, and that guy ordered on 9/15.

I ordered 10/5, 2 days after you and i'm not in the 4 month window.
I told my dealer i'd walk if I was.

He made a call to SOA, hung up grinning and said "month of december"

It seems the wait time is really unique to each order. Base vs. Premium vs. Limited, Nav vs. no-Nav, region, etc. I ordered on opening week mid-August, and my wait time will most likely be a little over 4 months before it gets here. No VIN yet. Some seem worse off than me on wait time, some seem better off.

Can someone confirm this for me? The dealer said my order would be filled on FEBUARY... because:

"He is expecting to have the car sometime in Feb,
due to Subaru Factory will be close for couple of weeks for the holiday."

Is this true?

This seems like aload of bull ****.. what should I tell the salesman?

This is not accurate. Not all dealerships allow you to cancel and get a full refund.

Quick question,

Is a dealership able to take off an SPT exhaust and put on the stock exhaust and sell it that way?

The chargeback from my credit card would care to disagree.
