Default Where is the engine code on the block engine for a wrx or sti?

trying to find a thread but couldnt' find any to determine where the 05 wrx or vII sti engine code stamp is located on the block? any help would be great

on top of the block, should say EJ25/EJ20 depending which car. the full motor code is on the VIN plate, but im sure it says SOMEWHERE if its a 255/257/205

what you be able to see it in the engine bay or only if the block is disassembled? where would I be looking at?

if i recall correctly its located under the crossover pipe under the accessories? i dont think it would be EASILY accessible without some digging but it should be able to be seen
